Domain related to iron (DRI) contains approximately 90 residues and is involved in iron and heme metabolism. Recent discoveries have annotated Dri1, a DRI-only protein from the cyanobacterium Synechocystis, as a regulator of succinate dehydrogenase in a b-type heme-dependent manner or as a c-type heme oxygenase. Here, we report high-resolution structures of Dri1 in complex with b-type and c-type hemes, respectively.

We previously reported externalization of phosphatidylserine (PS) on astrocytic membranes concurrent with the emergence of PS externalization in neurons. PS externalization of astrocytes induced microglial phagocytosis of astrocytes, resulting in reduced astrocyte-vascular coupling and subsequent BBB breakdown.

Objective To investigate the effects of pterostilbene on human colon cancer LoVo cells and study the regulatory mechanism of nuclear factor E2-related factor 2 (Nrf2) in the process of pterostilbene acting on LoVo cells. Methods LoVo cells were treated with different concentrations (5,10,20,40,60,80,100 μmol/L) of pterostilbene.Cell viability, migration, invasion, and apoptosis were examined by CCK-8,scratch,Transwell,and TUNEL assays, respectively.

Aim: To explore the current research status and emerging hotspots of PJS.
Methods: Studies on PJS published during 1994-2023 were gathered based on Web of Science Core Collection.
According to the theory of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM), benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) belongs to the category of "Jing Long". Clinical management of BPH in TCM is root-aimed and kidney-targeted, in combination with the treatment of other viscera based on the syndrome differentiation of zang-fu organs. The neuro-endocrine-immune network of modern medicine is similar to the holistic concept of TCM.

However, whether voluntary exercise (VE) activates cardiac signal transducer and activator of transcription 3 (STAT3) and the underlying mechanisms remain unclear. This study investigated the role of STAT3-microRNA(miRNA)-targeted protein axis in VE against breast cancer-induced cardiac injury.

Methods: We established an integrative prognostic neural network for intrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma (iCCA), towards a comprehensive evaluation of both architectural and fine-grained information from whole-slide images.
Drug delivery systems (DDS) have recently emerged as a promising approach for the unique advantages of drug protection and targeted delivery. However, the access of nanoparticles/drugs to the central nervous system (CNS) remains a challenge mainly due to the obstruction from brain barriers. Immune cells infiltrating the CNS in the pathological state have inspired the development of strategies for CNS foundation drug delivery.

Specifying differential effects of various placebo controls on migraine prevention would be essential in the explanation of preventive treatment for migraine and the indirect comparison between different prophylactic therapeutics.
Objectives: To access the impact of different non-pharmacologic placebo types on different outcomes in migraine patients.

Arabidopsis thaliana temperature-induced lipocalin (AtTIL) is a prototypical member of plant lipocalins and participates in a variety of cellular processes, particularly stress responses. Bioinformatical and physiological studies have proposed its promiscuous ligand-binding ability, but the molecular basis is yet unclear. Here, we report the 1.

The robotic liver resection (RLR) has been increasingly applied in recent years and its benefits shown in some aspects owing to the technical advancement of robotic surgical system, however, controversies still exist. Based on the foundation of the previous consensus statement, this new consensus document aimed to update clinical recommendations and provide guidance to improve the outcomes of RLR clinical practice. The guideline steering group and guideline expert group were formed by 29 international experts of liver surgery and evidence-based medicine (EBM).

However, these studies are either affected by the inclusion of insufficient trials or by the problem of dependent data across multiple outcomes, and an overall effect size has not been provided. We aimed to determine the effect of probiotics on IBS through a three-level meta-analysis and clarify potential effect moderators.

Materials And Methods: This study analyzed patients who underwent prostate mpMRI and radical prostatectomy (RP) at the Affiliated Hospital of Jiaxing University between November 2017 and December 2022. The clinical data collected included age, serum prostate-specific antigen (PSA), and biopsy pathology.
Polymorphs of ZnHPO·2HO with centrosymmetry () and noncentrosymmetry (2) structures were prepared by modified solution evaporation and seed-crystal-induced secondary nucleation methods. In -ZnHPO·2HO, the zinc atoms are only octahedrally coordinated, while in 2-ZnHPO·2HO, they feature both tetrahedral and octahedral coordination. As a result, -ZnHPO·2HO features a 2D layered structure with lattice water molecules located in the interlayer space, while 2-ZnHPO·2HO features a 3D electroneutral framework of topology connected by Zn(1)O, Zn(2)O, and HPO units.

Nevertheless, repeated significance testing might inflate type I error. We aimed to verify the effectiveness and safety of acupuncture in reducing TTH frequency by meta-analysis and trial sequential analysis (TSA).
