A novel two-dimensional (2D) Hofmann-type coordination polymer, {Fe(PyHbim)[Pd(CN)]}·2CHOH [·2CHOH, PyHbim = 2-(4-pyridyl)benzimidazole], has been synthesized, which can undergo a spontaneous guest exchange, transforming to ·2HO in a single-crystal-to-single-crystal (SCSC) manner, shifting from orthorhombic to monoclinic 2/ involving the displacement of 2D layers. The solvent-induced SCSC transformation process was reversible and verified through powder X-ray diffraction (PXRD) and single-crystal X-ray crystallography analyses. Both ·2CHOH and ·2HO exhibit complete and abrupt spin crossover (SCO) behaviors in two steps, while their SCO temperature ranges drastically shift by ca.

Sb S is rapidly developed as light absorber material for solar cells due to its excellent photoelectric properties. However, the use of the organic hole transport layer of Spiro-OMeTAD and gold (Au) in Sb S solar cells imposes serious problems in stability and cost. In this work, low-cost molybdenum (Mo) prepared by magnetron sputtering is demonstrated to serve as a back electrode in superstrate structured Sb S solar cells for the first time.

Background: Acute exacerbations of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (AECOPD) are a major reason for consultations in primary care, hospital admissions, deterioration in function, and mortality. Despite the majority of exacerbations not being caused by bacteria, as many as 70% of patients who present in UK primary care with AECOPD are prescribed antibiotics as part of standard care. However, finding effective non-antibiotic treatments for COPD exacerbations is a priority to reduce antibiotic use.

Article Synopsis
  • The study evaluated the effectiveness and safety of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) mind-body therapies for patients suffering from neuropathic pain through a systematic review of randomized controlled trials (RCTs).
  • Twenty-three RCTs involving 1,693 patients with various conditions, including lumbar herniated discs and cervical spondylotic radiculopathy, were analyzed, revealing that TCM mind-body therapies were more effective than physiotherapy alone for pain relief.
  • The review concluded that while low-quality evidence suggests TCM mind-body therapies may help reduce pain and improve function, further high-quality studies are needed to verify these findings and assess safety.
