Metabolomics is a discipline that uses Chromatography-Mass Spectrometry and Nuclear Magnetic Resonance techniques to identify and quantify all small molecule metabolites in living organisms and biological samples, which relies on sensitive, stable analytical procedures and improving databases. Metabolomics has been widely used in medicine, food science, crop and farm animal research, and other fields. Metabolomics can establish a more direct relationship between changes in the type and content of metabolites and phenotypes.

Methods: A total of 28 consecutive patients (30 limbs) who underwent CDT for treatment of popliteal and infrapopliteal acute limb ischemia of thromboembolic origin between March 2012 and December 2017 were enrolled in this study. Per the Society for Vascular Surgery, limbs were classified into three runoff score groups: <5, good; 5 to 10, compromised; and >10, poor.
Background: Traumatic avulsion injuries to the anus, although uncommon, can result in serious complications and even death. Management of anal avulsion injuries remains controversial and challenging. This study aimed to investigate the clinical effects of treating large skin and subcutaneous tissue avulsion injuries in the perianal, sacral, and perineal regions with island flaps or skin graft combined with vacuum assisted closure.

However, mechanisms linking lipid overload and mitochondrial dysfunction are incompletely understood.
Objective: To elucidate the mechanisms for mitochondrial adaptations to lipid overload in postnatal hearts in vivo.
Acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) and acute myeloid leukemia (AML) are common types of acute leukemia in adults and cause low survival rate and poor outcome after 5 years despite high rates of complete remission (CR) with modern chemotherapeutic regimens. To understand the distinct mechanisms in leukemogenesis for ALL and AML and to identify markers for diagnosis and treatment, lncRNA and mRNA expression profiles of AML and ALL patients and healthy controls were generated using microarray analysis. For comparison, the differentially expressed mRNA functions were annotated using gene ontology (GO) and pathway analysis.

Mitochondria are implicated in carcinogenesis, and therefore dozens of lethal signal transduction pathways converge on these organelles. Accordingly, mitochondria provide an alternative target for cancer management.

However, numerous solid tumor types are resistant to TRAIL. Sensitization to TRAIL has been an area of great research interest, but has met significant challenges because of poor bioavailability, half-life, and solubility of sensitizing compounds such as curcumin.

Research Design And Methods: Mitochondrial matrix and membrane fractions were generated from liver, brain, heart, and kidney of wild-type and type 1 diabetic Akita mice. Comparative proteomics was performed using label-free proteome expression analysis.
Background: Clenbuterol, a beta-agonist, can dramatically reduce pig adipose accumulation at high dosages. However, it has been banned in pig production because people who eat pig products treated with clenbuterol can be poisoned by the clenbuterol residues. To understand the molecular mechanism for this fat reduction, cDNA microarray, real-time PCR, two-dimensional electrophoresis and mass spectra were used to study the differential gene expression profiles of pig adipose tissues treated with/without clenbuterol.

The dramatic, synergetic effect of additives, organic solvent, and the substituents of chiral salen ligands on the enantioselectivities of the reactions is reported. Results from UV/Vis spectroscopy and ESI-MS studies provide evidence that these reactions are induced by the formation of a high-valent manganese intermediate.

Thus, we constructed a random small-insert genomic library and a microsatellite-enriched library containing CA repeats. Fourteen clones containing CA repeats were isolated from 3462 clones in the non-enriched library by radioactive screening and 248 positive clones were isolated from 300 sequenced clones from the enriched library by PCR screening.
