Periodontal ligament fibroblasts (PDLFs) play a crucial role in the etiology of periodontitis and periodontal tissue regeneration. In healthy periodontal tissues, PDLFs maintain the homeostasis of periodontal soft and hard tissues as well as the local immune microenvironment. PDLFs also have the potential for multidirectional transdifferentiation and are involved in periodontal tissue regeneration.

The main methods of epigenetics include non-coding RNA, histone modification, and DNA modification, which play an essential role in gene expression regulation and even the occurrence of diverse diseases. Naringenin, the aglycone form of naringin, is a natural flavonoid compound mainly found in fruits or plant derivatives such as citrus, tomatoes, and cherries.

Therefore, this study aimed to explore the association between malnutrition and disease activity in IBD.
Methods: In this retrospective study, we enrolled 1006 patients diagnosed with IBD from the First Affiliated Hospital of Wenzhou Medical University from 2011 to 2022.
The ultrafast charge/discharge rate and high power density (P) endow lead-free dielectric energy storage ceramics (LDESCs) with enormous application potential in electric vehicles. However, their low energy storage density and single energy storage performance (ESP) limit their further development and applicability in rugged environments. Here, through the design of vacancy defects and phase structure regulation, Pb-free (BiNa)TiO-based ceramics with an optimal composition can achieve a large maximum polarization (>44 µC cm) under a moderate electric field (410 kV cm), resulting in an extremely high recoverable energy storage density (≈6.

In this study, we identified a new benzothiazole derivative compound, (IC = 43.

Collagen, predominantly synthesized and secreted in hepatic stellate cells (HSCs), relies on glycine as a crucial constituent. Activating transcription factor 4 (ATF4) serves as a pivotal transcriptional regulator in amino acid metabolism.

Precommitment shows promise in reducing decision-making impulsivity; however, it may be invalidated, leading to self-control failures. Therefore, this study aimed to explore the effectiveness of revocable precommitment in promoting commitment and reducing decision-making impulsivity through two studies. Experiment 1 used event-related potentials to explore whether revocable precommitment was beneficial to make individuals more inclined to commit.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFInsomnia has now become a major health problem of global concern, with about 1/3 of the population suffering from sleep problems, a proportion that is still rising year by year. Most of the therapeutic drugs for insomnia currently used in clinical practice are not developed in a targeted manner, but are discovered by chance, and have unavoidable side effects such as addiction. Finding a safer and more effective therapeutic drug has become an urgent need for current research.

Aims: This study aimed to investigate the impact of the triglyceride-glucose index (TyG index) on clinical consequences in individuals with large vascular occlusion (LVO)-induced acute ischemic stroke (AIS) following endovascular treatment (EVT).
Methods: We conducted a single-center retrospective cohort study, including AIS with LVO who underwent EVT. Patients were categorized into TyG index groups, calculated as "(fasting triglyceride [mg/dL] × fasting blood glucose [mg/dL]/2).
Research Question: What are the long-term effects of different models of polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), and which model could be used in future research?
Design: PCOS models induced by letrozole, letrozole plus high-fat diet (LE+HFD), testosterone propionate (TP) or testosterone propionate plus HFD (TP+HFD) were established in rats. Body weight, energy intake, blood glucose, sex hormone concentrations, lipid profiles and the oestrus cycle were observed. Histology of ovaries, large intestine and fat was displayed.

Gas transport through nanochannels has aroused significant interest in many fields. Recently, "ballistic transport" of gas was observed through a two-dimensional graphene nanochannel, and it causes a peculiar enhancement compared to the predictions of the Knudson theory. Many studies attributed this effect to the specular reflection caused by the atomically smooth surface of the channel.

Clinical and imaging data from patients with recurrent glioblastoma were analyzed. Through co-registration of preoperative and post-recurrence MRI, we identified future tumor recurrence regions (FTRRs) and future non-tumor recurrence regions (FNTRRs) within the NEPTRs.

Despite the use of hydrophobic strategies to prevent external water intrusion, addressing in situ-produced water transport during H detection remains a challenge. Herein, we construct a novel waterproof H sensor by integrating single-atom Ru self-assembly with monolayer amphiphiles embedded in MoS.

Current technologies rely on ethanol-insoluble excipients, such as guar gum and sodium alginate, to counteract the increased solubility of hydrophobic polymeric excipients in ethanol. However, these excipients pose several shortcomings, such as high viscosity of coating dispersion, high solution temperature, rapid gelation, and heterogeneity of resulted film.

Herein, a novel membrane with heterogeneously charged channels was constructed by modified layer-by-layer assembly methods. Thin-film lithium niobate (TFLN) resonators and waveguides featuring tight light confinement are flexible to realize mode- or quasi-phase-matching (MPM or QPM) and thus efficient SH generation. Here, we report an efficient SH with an absolute conversion efficiency of 45% in a reverse-polarized double-layer TFLN waveguide.
