Diagnostic accuracy of human papillomavirus testing on self-collected samples among women referred for colposcopy.

To assess the diagnostic accuracy of self-collected urine and vaginal samples for the identification of precancerous cervical lesions in the referral population using high-risk human papillomavirus (hrHPV) assays based on polymerase chain reaction (PCR). It was a prospective study carried out in China from June 2021 to March 2022. The vaginal and urine samples were collected and analyzed by using a newly developed specific hrHPV PCR test, and matched cervical samples were analyzed by using an approved hrHPV DNA test.

In our previous works, we found that water-processed rosin (WPR) can alleviate imiquimod (IMQ)-induced psoriasis-like inflammation in mice. However, the efficacy of AA, the main component of WPR, against psoriasis remains unclear.

Gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM) causes oxidative stress in mothers and infants and causes vascular endothelial dysfunction, which is a key factor for maternal and fetal cardiovascular diseases in the later stage of GDM, seriously threatening the life and health of mothers and infants. Nowadays, metformin (MET) has been discovered to improve endothelial function, but studies regarding the mechanism of MET improving endothelial cell function and alleviating endothelial function under hyperglycemia are still extremely limited. We aimed to investigate whether MET exerts its protective role against hyperglycemia-induced endothelial dysfunction through p65 and Nrf2.

Prognostic Value of the Modified Systemic Inflammation Score in Patients With Extranodal Natural Killer/T-Cell Lymphoma.

Background: Extranodal natural killer/T-cell lymphoma (ENKTL) is a rare and extremely malignant tumor. The systemic inflammation score (SIS), which is based on the pretreatment level of lymphocyte-to-monocyte ratio (LMR) and serum albumin (Alb), has been shown to be of prognostic value in a number of cancers. We integrate several other pretreatment serum inflammatory indicators, including the neutrophil-to-lymphocyte ratio (NLR), lymphocyte-to-monocyte ratio (LMR), serum C-reactive protein (CRP) and albumin (Alb) level, to establish a modified systemic inflammatory scoring system to predict clinical outcomes of ENKTL.

Beneficial effects of lactitol on the composition of gut microbiota in constipated patients.

Objective: To explore the changes in microbial composition and the corresponding impact after lactitol treatment in constipated patients.

Methods: Altogether 29 consecutive outpatients diagnosed with chronic constipation from three centers were recruited and stratified based on their history of diabetes mellitus. All patients were administered with oral lactitol for 2 weeks, and a symptoms diary of constipation was recorded.

Axial length change and its relationship with baseline choroidal thickness - a five-year longitudinal study in Danish adolescents: the CCC2000 eye study.

Ethnopharmacological Relevance: Rosin, an exudate of conifer trees such as Pinus masscnlana (Pinaceae), has been used to treat psoriasis for nearly two thousand years in China despite its so far undefined pharmacology. Unfortunately, the rosin intoxication is noted from time to time, but the water-boiled rosin (WBR) has been documented to be safer. This study was performed to evaluate the in vivo anti-psoriasis efficacy of WBR.

Small Hard Macular Drusen and Associations in 11- to 12-Year-Old Children in the Copenhagen Child Cohort 2000 Eye Study.

Purpose: To assess the prevalence and associations of small hard drusen in a child cohort.

Methods: Cross-sectional study of 11- to 12-year-old Danish children from the population-based Copenhagen Child Cohort 2000 Eye Study. Fovea-centered, 45° color images of both eyes were graded for macular drusen (within one optic-disc-rim-to-fovea distance of the foveal center) and for extramacular drusen.

Objective To evaluate the efficacy and safety of amoxicillin-clarithromycin-containing bismuth quadruple regimen as a primary therapy for Helicobacter pylori (Hp) eradication.Methods A total of 102 Hp-infected outpatients diagnosed by C-or C-urea breath test from December 2015 to June 2017 were enrolled and received 14-day bismuth quadruple therapy (esomeprazole 20 mg bid,bismuth potassium citrate 220 mg bid,amoxicillin 1000 mg bid,and clarithromycin 500 mg bid for 14 days). Hp status was assessed by C-or C-urea breath test 4 weeks,8 weeks,6 months,and 12 months after the treatment.

The Longitudinal Danish High Myopia Study, Cohort 1948: at age 66 years visual ability is only occasionally affected by visual field defects.

Purpose: A descriptive study on visual fields, as part of a 50-year follow-up of high myopia in an unselected cohort-based Danish sample, now aged 66 years.

Methods: In a Copenhagen 1948 birth cohort (n = 9243), 39 individuals aged 14 years were identified with myopia of at least -6 D, and with regular clinical follow-ups since then. In 2002 (n = 34, age 54 years) and 2008 (n = 32, age 60), the individual ambulatory visual field was outlined by kinetic Goldmann large object perimetry (IV or V,4e).

Effect of high-fat, standard, and functional food meals on esophageal and gastric pH in patients with gastroesophageal reflux disease and healthy subjects.

Objectives: To investigate the effects of different test meals on esophageal and intragastric pH in patients with gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) and healthy subjects and to demonstrate the relationship between esophageal acid exposure (EAE) and gastric pH.

Methods: We enrolled patients with reflux esophagitis (RE; n = 15), nonerosive reflux disease (NERD; n = 12) and healthy subjects (n = 10). Four pH electrodes were used to monitor the pH of the distal esophagus, upper border of the lower esophageal sphincter, gastric fundus, and gastric body for 26 hours.

In order to reveal the dynamics of canopy vertical structure and its effects on understory regeneration, we built 24 permanent plots (20 m×20 m) on the upslope, midslopeand downslope, respectively, in a typical evergreen broadleaved forest in Damingshan, Guangxi, China. We measured the crown area of each tree with diameter at breast height (DBH)≥1.0 cm, and surveyed the understory regeneration in growing season from 2009 to 2011.
