Background: This study aimed to investigate the clinical value of the serum albumin-to-globulin ratio (AGR) in diagnosing multiple myeloma (MM) and its differential diagnosis from other conditions such as liver and kidney diseases to provide scientific evidence for clinical decision-making.

Methods: A total of 52 newly-diagnosed MM patients from Tongxiang First People's Hospital between January 2020 and June 2024 were selected as the study group. Additionally, 56 patients newly diagnosed with liver disease and 58 patients newly diagnosed with kidney disease during the same period were used as disease control groups, along with 54 healthy individuals serving as the normal control group.

Falsely elevated type IV collagen caused in part by heterophilic antibodies: A case report.

Immunoassays, which are used ubiquitously in clinical practice, are inherently vulnerable to distortions arising from endogenous immunoglobulins, particularly heterophilic antibodies. While many studies have explored interference in substances measured using chemiluminescence or electrochemiluminescence methods based on the double-antibody sandwich principle, there are limited data on interference in immunoturbidimetric assays, particularly for type IV collagen. This article presents the first report of a noteworthy increase in serum type IV collagen levels stemming from heterophilic antibody interference detected through an immunoturbidimetric assay.

Pulmonary mucinous adenocarcinoma: A case report and literature review.

Driven by our recent medicinal chemistry research, we have investigated the coupling reaction between aliphatic -hydroxyphthalimide esters and terminal 2-trifluoromethylalkenes. This reaction was driven by the photochemical activity of the electron donor-acceptor (EDA) complex. The reaction's efficiency hinges on the olefin's electronic effect, with electron-withdrawing groups yielding much better results.

Fibrosis, an excessive self-repair response, is an age-related pathological process that universally affects various major organs such as the heart, liver, kidney, and lungs. Continuous accumulation of pathological tissue fibrosis destroys structural integrity and causes loss of function, with consequent organ failure and increased mortality. Although some differences exist in the triggering mechanisms and pathophysiologic manifestations of organ-specific fibrosis, they usually share similar cascading responses and features, including chronic inflammatory stimulation, parenchymal cell injury, and macrophage recruitment.

Background: Direct-to-implant (DTI) breast reconstruction restores patient body image immediately after mastectomy but may increase postoperative complications compared to tissue expander (TE)-based breast reconstruction. Few studies have compared the surgical complications and patient-reported outcomes (PROs) of DTI and TE breast reconstructions in Asian women.

Method: This study compared postoperative complications and PROs between DTI and TE breast reconstruction in Chinese women and explores the risk factors of postoperative complications and the influencing factors of PROs.

Remote sensing observations have shown that the far side of the Moon (lunar farside) has different geology and rock composition to those of the nearside, including the abundances of potassium, rare earth elements, and phosphorus (collectively known as KREEP). The Chang'e-6 (CE-6) spacecraft collected samples from the South Pole-Aitken (SPA) basin on the farside and brought them to Earth. We used lead-lead and rubidium-strontium isotope systems to date low-titanium basalt in a CE-6 sample, finding a consistent age of 2830 (±5) million years.
