Background: Idiopathic choroidal neovascularization (ICNV) is a unilateral ocular disease which occurs in patients younger than 50 years and accounts for approximately 17% of patients with CNV. An integrated process was specifically developed for the decentralized supply of drinking water from micro-polluted surface water in the rural areas of China. The treatment process combined ozonation with ceramic ultra-filtration (UF), coagulation for pre-treatment and granular activated carbon filtration.
