Article Synopsis
  • - A commercial tea plantation in Menghai, Yunnan, China, experienced leaf spot issues affecting about 10% of its tea plants, with symptoms progressing to pale pink mold layers on the leaves.
  • - Researchers isolated the pathogen from affected leaves and identified 15 fungal isolates that visually resembled Trichoderma roseum, characterized by distinctive colony colors and conidia shapes.
  • - Genomic sequencing of the selected strain CYB5 showed a 98% similarity to known Trichoderma roseum sequences, confirming its identity through phylogenetic analysis.

Central nervous system (CNS) diseases have become one of the leading causes of death in the global population. The pathogenesis of CNS diseases is complicated, so it is important to find the patterns of the disease to improve the treatment strategy. Microglia are considered to be a double-edged sword, playing both harmful and beneficial roles in CNS diseases.

Background: This study was conducted to investigate the effect of dietary rutin on the meat quality, antioxidant status and mitochondrial structure and function in the breast muscle of heat-stressed broilers. A total of 192 male broilers were randomly assigned into three groups and treated with normal control (CON), heat stress (34 °C, HS), and HS with 500 mg kg rutin supplementation (HS + Rutin), respectively.

Results: Dietary rutin significantly reversed HS-induced decrease in body weight, average daily feed intake, average daily gain, and feed efficiency.

In this study, we aim to determine the chemical constituents of six Chinese medicinal materials from the Citrus genus using high-performance liquid chromatography and high-resolution mass spectrometry. Eight flavonoids and one coumarin were identified and further quantified as marker substances by high-performance liquid chromatography method. The separation was performed on an Agilent TC-C column with 0.

The up-regulated metastasis-associated in colon cancer 1 (MACC1) expression and its clinical significance has been explored in a varity of malignancies. In this study, lesion MACC1 expression in 503 CRC patients ( = 332, = 171) were analyzed with immunohistochemistry, and its correlation with clinical parameters, patient survival, and its impact on prognostic stratification were evaluated. Data revealed the survival of patient with MACC1 is markedly worse than that of MACC1 (mean overall survival: 80.

The clinical significance of metastasis-associated in colon cancer-1 (MACC1) has been investigated but the relevance of peripheral MACC1 levels was rather limited. Herein, our data revealed that plasma MACC1 levels in 117 colorectal cancer patients (CRC) were dramatically higher than that in normal controls (P < 0.001), and with a strong discrimination power between the two groups (AUC = 0.

The expression of plastid genes is regulated by two types of DNA-dependent RNA polymerases, plastid-encoded RNA polymerase (PEP) and nuclear-encoded RNA polymerase (NEP). The plastid rpoA polycistron encodes a series of essential chloroplast ribosome subunits and a core subunit of PEP. Despite the functional importance, little is known about the regulation of rpoA polycistron.

: The objective of study is aiming to investigate the residual tumor rate after Vacuum-assisted Breast Biopsy (VABB) for early breast cancer excision and the efficacy of mammogram and ultrasound in detecting residual tumor. : Patients who underwent VABB and were confirmed with breast cancer in Sun Yat-sen University Cancer Center from 2010 to 2015 were reviewed retrospectively. The residual tumor rate determined by histological examination was calculated, and then was compared with the results estimated by mammogram and ultrasound which were performed post VABB but before subsequent surgery.

After transcription, most chloroplast precursor RNAs undergo further post-transcriptional processing including cleavage, editing, and splicing. Previous investigation has shown that the cleavage of the rpoA transcript and most editing sites, including accD-1, are defective in the knockout mutant of PDM1/SEL1, a PLS-type PPR protein, and that PDM1 is associated with the rpoA transcript. In this work, we found that the splicing of group II introns in trnK and ndhA is also affected in pdm1.

Some lepidopteran lysozymes have been reported to display activity against Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria, in contrast to most lysozymes that are active only against Gram-positive bacteria. OstrinLysC, a c-type lysozyme, was purified from the Asian corn borer, Ostrinia furnacalis Guenée (Lepidoptera: Pyralidae), and shows activity against Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria. The NH2-terminal amino acid sequence was determined by Edman degradation and used in a homology cloning strategy.
