This study explored the use of algae to supply oxygen in situ as an alternative to mechanical aeration for anaerobic effluent treatment in a photo-sequencing batch biofilm reactor (PSBBR). By establishing alternating aerobic (dissolved oxygen (DO) > 2 mg /L)/anoxic conditions (<0.5 mg-DO/L) through a 6-h off/6-h on biogas sparging cycle and continuous illumination (1500-3000 lux), the PSBBR achieved a significant ammonia removal rate of 15-25 mg N Ld.

Methods: 43 patients with renal injury hemorrhage who underwent 46 SRAEs were enrolled in this retrospective review study. Records, images, and outcomes were reviewed.
Establishing a physical barrier between the peritoneum and the cecum is an effective method to reduce the risk of postoperative abdominal adhesions. Meloxicam (MX), a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug has also been applied to prevent postoperative adhesions. However, its poor water solubility has led to low bioavailability.

However, at present, no attention is paid to the BP fluctuation following total knee arthroplasty (TKA). The aim of this study is to investigate what is BP fluctuation patterns in stroke and transient ischemic attack (TIA) patients after primary TKA, compare clinical characteristics among different BP fluctuation patterns and determine whether it could predict the occurrence of a 90-day stroke.

Enhanced platelet activation was observed in animals and humans with HHcy. However, the influence of HHcy on thrombopoiesis remains largely unknown.

Methods: Cervical, vaginal, urethral, and rectal swabs were collected from 22 infertile patients and 10 controls, and follicular fluid was extracted from 22 infertile patients.
Purpose: To develop and validate a clinical-radiomics nomogram based on clinical risk factors and CT radiomics feature to predict hypertensive intracerebral hemorrhage (HICH) prognosis.
Methods: A total of 195 patients with HICH treated in our hospital from January 2018 to January 2022 were retrospectively enrolled and randomly divided into two cohorts for training ( = 138) and validation ( = 57) according to the ratio of 7 : 3. All CT radiomics features were extracted from intrahematomal, perihematomal, and combined intra- and perihematomal regions by using free open-source software called 3D slicer.
Background: The role of the IL6 family members in organ fibrosis, including renal interstitial fibrosis (TIF), has been widely explored. However, few studies have ever simultaneously examined them in the same cohort of patients. Besides, the role of leukemia inhibitory factor (LIF) in TIF remains unclear.

It is generally considered safe as a food or drug, and its adverse reactions, such as -induced liver injury, have never been reported. A 46-year-old woman was admitted to hospital with fatigue, nausea, abdominal distension, jaundice and a >16-fold increase in transaminase and bilirubin level.

However, the lack of adhesion of embolization particles contributes to facilitated recanalization after embolization, while the lack of visualization facilitates misembolization. At present, embolization materials with good expansion, adhesion, and visualization potential are urgently required in clinical practice.

The development of tissue adhesive embolization microspheres with imaging ability is one of the important methods to improve the efficacy of interventional embolization. This study reported the synthesis of iodine (I)-polyvinyl alcohol (PVA)@polydopamine (PDA) microspheres to achieve the computed tomography image, drug loading and controlled release, and the enhanced embolization of liver portal vein. The I-PVA@PDA microspheres with a diameter of 147.

Transformer, first applied to the field of natural language processing, is a type of deep neural network mainly based on the self-attention mechanism. Thanks to its strong representation capabilities, researchers are looking at ways to apply transformer to computer vision tasks. In a variety of visual benchmarks, transformer-based models perform similar to or better than other types of networks such as convolutional and recurrent neural networks.

We here showed that Numb, a multifunctional adaptor protein, increased the protein abundance of DEPTOR, which is an inhibitor of mTORC1, leading to increased autophagy flux. In vitro ubiquitination assay demonstrated that Numb inhibited SCF mediated ubiquitination of DEPTOR.

Materials And Methods: Fifty-one consecutive patients (88% women; mean age, 44 years) who underwent stent placement for nonthrombotic lower extremity venous disease between 2002 and 2016 were retrospectively identified. The patients were divided into 2 cohorts: those who received prophylactic enoxaparin or no anticoagulation (subtherapeutic) after the procedure and those who received therapeutic doses of anticoagulation with enoxaparin, warfarin, and/or rivaroxaban (therapeutic) after the procedure.
Purpose: We aimed to evaluate whether bronchial artery can supply a percutaneously inoculated canine transmissible venereal tumor (CTVT) in a lung tumor model.
Methods: Fresh CTVT tissue blocks were percutaneously inoculated into unilateral or bilateral lungs of six immunosuppressed dogs at the mid zone of the middle or lower lobe. Tumor growth was monitored by computed tomography (CT).

Purpose: The aim of this study was to assess whether passive smoking affects clinical outcomes among female patients with knee osteoarthritis after being treated with total knee arthroplasty (TKA).
Methods: The study prospectively enrolled 216 female patients who did not smoke and those patients were classified into three groups in terms of the severity of exposure to environmental tobacco smoke. A three-month follow-up was conducted to assess the physical and mental outcomes between the three groups.
Purpose: The efficacy and safety of super-mini percutaneous nephrolithotomy (SMP, 14 Fr) was compared with mini percutaneous nephrolithotomy (MPCNL, 16 Fr) for the treatment of upper urinary tract stones in children (< 14 years old).
Methods: Clinical data of 133 paediatric patients with upper urinary tract stones treated with SMP or MPCNL between May 2012 and May 2019 were retrospectively analysed. The patients were divided into the SMP and MPCNL groups.
Background: Pelvic girdle pain (PGP) is a multifactorial condition with a partly unknown etiology. This condition can be mentally and physically compromising both during and after pregnancy. To provide all-around preventive measures to improve the recovery from PGP, it is a necessity for obstetricians and orthopaedists to develop predictive studies about the worse prognosis for this condition.

Radiotherapy (RT) is becoming a pervasive therapeutic pattern in clinical cancer therapy. However, the hypoxic microenvironment of tumors has a strong resistance to radiotherapy and could lead to a potential recurrence and metastasis after the treatment. Therefore, the use of synergistic strategies for improving and supplementing the RT efficiency is important.

RNA polymerase II (Pol II) generally pauses at certain positions along gene bodies, thereby interrupting the transcription elongation process, which is often coupled with various important biological functions, such as precursor mRNA splicing and gene expression regulation. Characterizing the transcriptional elongation dynamics can thus help us understand many essential biological processes in eukaryotic cells. However, experimentally measuring Pol II elongation rates is generally time and resource consuming.
