Psoriasis, an immune-mediated chronic inflammatory skin disease, is primarily diagnosed through clinical assessment. Currently, specific markers for the accurate diagnosis and prediction of psoriatic disease are lacking. Here, we employed a three-step designed study to perform untargeted metabolomics, with the aim of identifying candidate biomarkers for psoriasis.

Mitigating endothelial dysfunction and mononuclear cell adhesion is a crucial approach in impeding the initial advancement of AS. As an inflammation-immune regulation-related protein, 2'-5'-oligoadenylate synthetase 1 (OAS1) plays a critical role in inflammation, but its impact on endothelial dysfunction and mononuclear cell adhesion is not well understood.

To improve the precision of GFR calculation, the development of strategies for accurately measuring serum CysC is crucial.
Methods: In this study, the full-length CysC pure product and fully recombinant N-labeled CysC internal standard were subjected to protein cleavage.
Background: Diabetic nephropathy (DN) is a common and severe microvascular complication of diabetes. Mitochondrial dysfunction and immune inflammation are important factors in the pathogenesis of DN. However, the specific mechanisms and their intricate interactions in DN remain unclear.

The ratio of Aβ42 to Aβ40 in plasma was useful for evaluating AD, but quantification is limited by factors including preanalytical analyte loss and insufficient sensitivity. The availability of a targeted UPLC-MS/MS method with adequate analytical sensitivity and accurate values traceable to the SI units is essential for implementing a strategy for assay standardization.

With a single-step precipitation pretreatment and a 6-min gradient elution, the method achieved baseline separation of theophylline and its analogs on a C18-packed column. A bracketing calibration method was used to ensure repeatable signal intensity and high measurement precision.

Accurate measurement of vanillylmandelic acid (VMA) and homovanillic acid (HVA) in human urine is crucial for screening and diagnosis of NB. Although various laboratories have developed liquid chromatography tandem mass spectrometry (LC-MS/MS) method to detect VMA and HVA, the comparability between the results obtained from different laboratories and methods was poor.

However, the relationship between CD39 expression levels and the function of chimeric antigen receptor T (CAR-T) cells remains controversial. This study aimed to investigate the role of CD39 in the functional performance of CAR-T cells against hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) and explore the therapeutic potential of CD39 modulators, such as mitochondrial division inhibitor-1 (mdivi-1), or knockdown CD39 through short hairpin RNA.

Exploring AGEs as potential biomarkers for these diseases holds paramount significance. Nevertheless, the high chemical structural similarity and great heterogeneity among AGEs present a formidable challenge when it comes to the comprehensive, simultaneous, and accurate detection of multiple AGEs in biological samples.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFActin filaments form unique structures with robust actin bundles and cytoskeletal networks affixed to the extracellular matrix and interact with neighboring cells, which are crucial structures for cancer cells to acquire a motile phenotype. This study aims to investigate a novel antitumor mechanism by which Tanshinone IIA (Tan IIA) modulates the morphology and migration of liver cancer cells via actin cytoskeleton regulation. 97H and Huh7 exhibited numerous tentacle-like protrusions that interacted with neighboring cells.

Recently, circRNAs have been identified as important regulators of diabetic kidney disease (DKD), owing to their stability and enrichment in exosomes. However, the role of circRNAs in exosomes of tubular epithelial cells in DKD development has not been fully elucidated.

Traditional moxa grades are evaluated by the leaf-to-moxa ratio, but there is a lack of support from scientific data. Scanning electron microscopy(SEM), Image Pro Plus, Van Soest method, and stimultaneous thermal analysis(TGA/DSC) were used to characterize the scientific implication of the combustion differences between moxa with different leaf-to-moxa ratios(processed by crusher).

Objective: To investigate copper metabolism-related gene biomarkers for AD diagnosis and therapy.
We developed and evaluated two-level, namely 2017011 and 2017012, serum-based reference materials (RMs) for 17 beta-estradiol (17 β-E2) by the reference method of isotope dilution liquid chromatography tandem mass spectrometry (ID-LC-MS/MS) from the remaining serum samples after routine clinical tests, to help improve clinical routine testing and provide the traceability of results. This paper describes the development process of these RMs. The National Metrology Institute of Japan (NMIJ) certified reference material (CRM) 6004-a was used as the primary RM for the measurement of 17 β-E2.

Existing analytical methods for blood cyclosporin A (CSA) monitoring, such as high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) and immunoassays, have limitations including cross-reactivity, time consumption, and the complicated procedures involved. Liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry (LC-MS/MS) has long been considered the reference standard owing to its high accuracy, specificity, and sensitivity.
