Background: Studies evaluating the characteristics of dual primary gastric and colorectal cancer (CRC) (DPGCC) are limited.

Aim: To analyze the clinicopathologic characteristics and prognosis of synchronous and metachronous cancers in patients with DPGCC.

Methods: From October 2010 to August 2021, patients with DPGCC were retrospectively reviewed.

Background: Neoadjuvant chemotherapy (NAC) with subsequent radical surgery has become a popular treatment modality for advanced gastric cancer (AGC) worldwide. However, the survival benefit is still controversial, and prognostic factors remain undetermined.

Aim: To identify clinical parameters that are associated with the survival of AGC patients after NAC and radical surgery and to establish a nomogram integrating multiple factors to predict survival.

Background: Nutritional status and quality of life deteriorate significantly after total gastrectomy for patients with gastric cancer. The numerous types of reconstruction proposed by medical researchers around the world have limited effect. This prospective, randomized clinical trial compared functional jejunal interposition with Roux-en-Y anastomosis to identify the optimal reconstruction procedure.

Acute lung injury (ALI) is a serious respiratory syndrome featured with uncontrolled inflammatory response. Biochanin A has been showed to possess and anti-inflammatory effect. This study intended to explore the suppression of biochanin A on lipopolysaccharide (LPS)-induced ALI in mice.

We propose a direct measurement method that is applicable to both integral and fractional vortex beams. In this approach, the phase distribution of the vortex beam is visualized via the phase-shifting digital holography technique. The least square method is initiatively employed to improve the measurement precision.

Hyperin, a flavonoid compound found in natural plants, has been reported that it have anti-inflammatory properties. However, the protective effects and mechanisms of hyperin on acute lung injury have not been reported so far. This research was designed to investigate the protective effects of hyperin on lipopolysaccharide-induced acute lung injury (ALI) in mice.

Similar to coherent light passing through a scattering medium, the propagation of coherent light through a multi-mode fiber (MMF) will result in a random speckle field. For a non-polarization maintaining MMF, the randomization can be observed not only in the intensity distribution, but also in the polarization state. In this paper, we propose a new technique known as phase combination to control the optical field for the light passing through the MMF.
