l-cysteine, as an eco-friendly and nontoxic corrosion inhibitor, was directly covalently linked to the carbon/carbon double bonds of the GO flakes by a thiol-ene click reaction to avoid decreasing the number of hydrophilic oxygen-containing polar functionalities.
