10-[(11)C]methoxy-20(S)-camptothecin was synthesized automatically. The radiochemical yield was 30%-50% (all calculated at EOB, n=20) with [(11)C]methyl triflate as a methylating agent. The radiochemical purity was greater than 96%, and the specific activity was 8.

Methods: Fifty-five patients with suspected brain tumor recurrence or necrosis after radiotherapy underwent MRI, F-18 FDG, and 11C-choline PET/CT examinations, and all the patients were followed up for at least 11 months. Lesion diagnoses based on medical imaging were compared with pathology or follow-up outcomes.
This study aimed to evaluate the prognostic value of 2-[18F]fluoro-2-deoxy-D-glucose (18F-FDG) uptake determined by positron emission tomography (PET) in patients with non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) in relation to disease stage and/or tumor histology. A retrospective review of 144 patients with newly diagnosed lung cancer undergoing PET imaging was performed. Differences in survival were compared by univariate and multivariate analyses.

Twenty-eight studies (involving a total of 910 patients) published between 1990 and 2007 were reviewed. These studies evaluated the role of FDG-PET and FDG-PET/CT in the detection of unknown primary tumors after physical examination and conventional workup failed to detect a primary tumor.

C-choline can achieve high contrast of brain tumour imaging and was expected to have higher sensitivity and specificity. We analysed the misdiagnoses in C-choline PET imaging in brain tumours with the aim of improving the accuracy of diagnosis with C-choline PET imaging.

Objectives: The aim of this study was to analyse the prevalence of dementia and its major subtypes [Alzheimer disease (AD), vascular dementia (VD)] among the population aged 60 years and older in China from 1980 to 2004.

Background: Owing to the limitation of monolayer tumour cells or transplanted tumor in radiation biology, multicellular spheroid (MTS) as a model of entity tumor had a wide range of application. This research aims to study the growth characteristics of A549 lung adenocarcinoma MTS so as to choose the best ones to perform experiments.

L-[1-13C] phenylalanine breath tests (PheBTs) have been used to determine the hepatocyte functional capacity of patients. This study investigated the relationship between the PheBT parameter 13C excretion rate constant (PheBT-k) and activity of the phenylalanine metabolic rate-limiting enzyme phenylalanine hydroxylase (PAH) in rat liver. We noted that the time-course curves of 13C excretion presented as a single peak, which appeared 2 min after administration of L-[1-13C] phenylalanine (13C-Phe).

This study was to discuss the value of F-18-fluoro-2-deoxy-d-glucose positron emission tomography/computed tomography (PET/CT) in detecting suspected recurrence or tumor residue, and whole body metastases of NPC after radiotherapy.
Methods: PET/CT were performed on 38 NPC patients 3-36 months after radiotherapy.
