The quantum anomalous layer Hall effect (QALHE), characterized by the precise control of the quantum anomalous Hall effect on different layers due to spin-layer-chirality coupling in van der Waals (vdW) layered materials, is of great importance in both fundamental physics and nanodevices. In this work, through the analysis of a low-energy effective model for vdW heterobilayers under biaxial strain, we propose the QALHE in valleytronic materials for the first time. The spin-layer-locked edge states and Chern numbers in heterobilayers give rise to dissipationless currents localized in specific layers, realizing the long-sought QALHE in heterobilayers.

Neuroblastoma (NB) is a severe pediatric tumor originating from the developing sympathetic nervous system, characterized by diverse clinical outcomes, including spontaneous regression and aggressive metastasis. Elucidating the correlation of active sites and catalytic activity in multi-component metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) is key to understanding the mechanism of oxygen evolution reaction (OER), yet it remains nebulous. Herein, a direct pathway combining theoretical prediction with anchoring high-valence metals is proposed on MOFs to reveal the mechanism of the OER reaction. Density functional theory (DFT) predicts that the co-modulation by Mo and Co atoms can enhance the conductance of CoMOF and optimize the adsorption-free energies of the OER intermediates.

We investigate the role of the black-phosphorus-based n-p (BP-np) junction modulated by linearly polarized light (LPL) in governing the quantum transport behaviors. Following the analysis of the band structures, we find that the LPL can adjust the gap between the conduction and valence bands by reducing the impact of momentum mismatch caused by the band gap. In addition, LPL can also eliminate the angle dependence of transmission.

In two-dimensional (2D) materials, breaking the inversion symmetry plays an important role in valleytronics. Ferrovalley (FV) materials can achieve spontaneous valley polarization (VP) without additional modulation due to the magnetic exchange interaction and strong spin-orbit coupling. Background: In China, lung cancer remains the cancer with the highest incidence and mortality rate. Among early-stage lung adenocarcinomas (LUAD), the micropapillary (MPP) component is prevalent and typically exhibits high aggressiveness, significantly correlating with early metastasis, lymphatic infiltration, and reduced five-year survival rates. Therefore, the study is to explore the similarities and differences between MPP and non-micropapillary (non-MPP) components in malignant pulmonary nodules characterized by GGOs in early-stage LUAD, identify unique mutational features of the MPP component and analyze the relationship between the ZNF469 gene, a member of the zinc-finger protein family, and the prognosis of early-stage LUAD, as well as its correlation with immune infiltration.

Focal cortical dysplasia (FCD), a common malformation of cortical development, is frequently associated with pharmacoresistant epilepsy in both children and adults. Adenosine is an inhibitory modulator of brain activity and a prospective anti-seizure agent with potential for clinical translation. Our previous results demonstrated that the major adenosine-metabolizing enzyme adenosine kinase (ADK) was upregulated in balloon cells (BCs) within FCD type IIB lesions, suggesting that dysfunction of the adenosine system is implicated in the pathophysiology of FCD.
