The body weight, daily food intake, estrous cycle, fertility index, pregnant index, gestation length, number of pups, blood hormone level, the weight of reproduction organ and the quality of sperm of the parental generation and the sex ratio, anogenital distance, vagina opening time, prepuce separation time of F1 generation were recorded.

Article Synopsis
  • The study aimed to assess how infant formula impacts reproductive development in Sprague-Dawley rats by conducting a two-generation reproductive test.
  • The results showed no significant growth benefits or reproductive organ impairment linked to the infant formula, although some growth metrics, like body weight during gestation and lactation, were notably lower in the formula group.
  • The conclusion suggests minimal effects of infant formula on reproductive development, but further research is needed to explore body weight changes during critical periods and their relationship to hormonal levels.

Objective: To observe the effects of Fructus Corni polysaccharides (FCP) on sexual function of hemicastrated rats.

Method: 70 male SD rats are randomly divided into 7 groups with their right testis extirpated except for normal control group.
