Background: Primary thyroid lymphoma (PTL) is a rare malignancy of the thyroid gland that poses significant clinical challenges due to its rarity and the varied therapeutic approaches it demands. Although recent years have seen an increasing focus on PTL, there is a notable lack of bibliometric analyses that consolidate the evolving research within this field. This study aims to analyze and highlight the research hotspots and trend changes in PTL, elucidating their clinical implications and guiding future research.

Objective: To investigate hippocampal volume changes in moderate to severe traumatic brain injury (TBI) patients compared to healthy controls and assess their association with post-traumatic epilepsy (PTE), focusing on age-related effects.

Methods: Imaging and demographic data for TBI patients were obtained from the Epilepsy Bioinformatics Study for Antiepileptogenic Therapy (EpiBioS4Rx) database; healthy controls matched by age and sex were sourced from Alzheimer's Disease Neuroimaging Initiative (ADNI), the National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH) Intramural Healthy Volunteer Dataset, the Parkinson's Progression Markers Initiative (PPMI), and the Autism Brain Imaging Data Exchange (ABIDE). MRI images for TBI subjects were obtained within 14-32 days post-injury.

The manipulation of vector optical fields in three-dimensional (3D) space plays a vital role in both fundamental research and practical implementations of polarization optics. However, existing studies mostly focus on 3D vector optical fields with limited modes. Here, an approach of spin-decoupled spatial partitioning is proposed to generate complex 3D vector optical fields with a customizable number of modes on demand.

Beam-steered infrared (IR) light communication has gained tremendous attention as one of the solutions of congested wireless communication traffic. High performance active beam-steering devices play a crucial role in data allocation and exchange. Conventional beam-steering devices such as spatial light modulator (SLM) and micro-electrical mechanical system (MEMS) mirror and the current emerging nonmechanical beam-steering metasurface-based devices are challenging to realize a large tunable steering angle beyond several degrees, which significantly hinders the spatial application of optical wireless communications (OWC).

To immobilize the activity and bioavailability of soil Cd, the single treatment only flooding (F) and the combined treatments with flooding plus bauxite residue (F-B) or lime (F-L) were designed to investigate the impacts of different treatments on the toxicity and bioavailability of Cd in contaminated soil. Compared with the single treatment (F), the combined treatments (F-B and F-L) improved soil-associated organic functional groups and aggregated stability in soil. The average particle sizes of soil aggregates increased from 126 nm (F-treated soil) to 256 and 270 nm following F-B and F-L treatments, respectively.

To address the instability of low-calorific-value waste incineration processes and suppress the generation of toxic dioxins, this study examines a 600 t/day waste incineration furnace as a case study. Numerical simulations of the incineration process were conducted by using bed calculation software FLIC and Fluent. A waste incineration cleanliness index was defined, and the impact of the reduced calorific value of the incoming waste on the temperature distribution within the incineration furnace was explored.

The accurate quantification of T cell subtypes and their proportions is of great significance in cell-based biomanufacturing, diagnosis, and advanced therapy. The development and application of a cell reference material (RM) provide a solid foundation for reliable and consistent T cell quantification worldwide. However, creating a cell RM that is both accurate and practical remains a challenge.

Head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (HNSCC) is a prevalent malignant tumor globally. Despite advancements in treatment methods, the overall survival rate remains low due to limitations such as poor targeting and low bioavailability, which result in the limited efficacy of traditional drug therapies. Nanomedicine is considered to be a promising strategy in tumor therapy, offering the potential for maximal anti-tumor effects.

Culturing fish myogenic cells in vitro holds significant potential to revolutionize aquaculture practices and support sustainable food production. However, advancement in in vitro culture technologies for skeletal muscle-derived myogenic cells have predominantly focused on mammals, with limited studies on fish. Scaffold-based three-dimensional (3D) culture systems for fish myogenic cells remain underexplored, highlighting a critical research gap compared to mammalian systems.

As a distinctive class of porphyrin derivatives, corroles offer exceptional potential in phototherapy applications owing to their unique electronic structures. However, developing metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) that incorporate photosensitive corroles as functional ligands for synergistic phototherapy remains a formidable challenge. Herein, for the first time, the unique phosphorus corrole-based MOFs Cor(P)-Hf with (3,18)-connected gea topology are reported, which are constructed by Cs-symmetric dicarboxylate 3-connected linkers, 10-pentafluorophenyl-5,15-di(p-benzoate)phosphorus corrole (Cor(P)), and the peculiar D-symmetric 18-connected Hf-oxo clusters.

Multiple myeloma (MM) is an incurable malignant hematological neoplasm characterized by clonal proliferation of plasma cells accumulating in the bone marrow. Currently, the treatment of MM is usually based on a multi-drug combination strategy, and the remission rates of MM patients have been greatly improved. However, MM is still not immune to drug resistance and recurrence and is an incurable tumor.

Circular RNAs (circRNAs) are novel class of stable regulatory RNAs abundantly expressed in the brain. However, their role in fear extinction (EXT) memory remains largely unexplored. To investigate the mechanisms of Circular Special AT-rich Sequence Binding Protein 2 (circSatb2) in EXT memory, we constructed a lentivirus overexpressing circSatb2 and injected it into the infralimbic prefrontal cortex (ILPFC) of the mouse brain.

Manganese oxide (MnO) cathodes with a Zn/H co-intercalation mixing mechanism have exhibited great potential for aqueous zinc-ion batteries (AZIBs) owing to their high energy density and optimal electrolyte suitability. However, the strong electrostatic interactions and slow kinetics between the high charge density zinc ions and the fixed lattice in conventional cathodes have hindered the development of AZIBs. Hence, selecting H with a smaller ionic radius and reduced electrostatic repulsion as carriers was a feasible strategy.

Continuous thermophilic composting (CTC) is a potential technique to recycle oxytetracycline fermentation residue (OFR) with the extremely high level of antibiotics but is still not explored. To investigate the efficiency of CTC on treating OFR, the differences between this technique and conventional composting in the evolution of dissolved organic matter and dynamics of bacterial community were compared. The higher degradation efficiency of oxytetracycline (OTC) was obtained in CTC than conventional composting.

Glycated whey protein isolate (gWPI) was produced by dry thermal reaction between whey protein isolate (WPI) and lactose, and its influence on the gelatinization, gel properties, and microstructure changes of wheat starch (WS) was systematically studied. Results showed that gWPI significantly inhibited starch gelatinization and improved starch gel properties. RVA and DSC analysis showed that gWPI decreased viscosity and gelatinization enthalpy (ΔH) in a concentration-dependent manner.

Radiotherapy (RT) is a cornerstone of cancer therapy, but its effectiveness is constrained by dose-limiting toxicity and inadequate systemic immune activation. To overcome these limitations, we have engineered an X-ray-responsive nanoassembly (sMnAu NAs) by cross-linking monodisperse MnAu nanoparticles (NPs) with radiation-responsive diselenide-containing linkers. MnAu alloy NPs not only provide Au NPs for radiosensitization, but also control Mn (0) release, which stimulates Fenton-like reaction for chemodynamic therapy and is transferred into Mn to activate the STING pathway for immunotherapy.
