Hyperspectral images contain abundant spectral and spatial information of the surface of the earth, but there are more difficulties in processing, analyzing, and sample-labeling these hyperspectral images. In this paper, local binary pattern (LBP), sparse representation and mixed logistic regression model are introduced to propose a sample labeling method based on neighborhood information and priority classifier discrimination. A new hyperspectral remote sensing image classification method based on texture features and semi-supervised learning is implemented.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFA palladium-catalyzed decarbonylative alkenylation of aromatic carboxylic acids was developed. Under the reaction conditions, various benzoic acids including those bearing functional groups coupled to terminal alkenes, producing the corresponding internal alkenes in good to high yields. Cinnamic acids and bioactive benzoic acids such as 3-methylflavone-8-carboxylic acid, probenecid, adapalin, and febuxostat were also applicable to this reaction, demonstrating the potential synthetic value of this new reaction in organic synthesis.

Experimental Design: Antibodies against ten IGF family proteins (IGF-1, IGF-1R, IGF-2, IGF-2R, IGFBP-1, IGFBP-2, IGFBP-3, IGFBP-4, IGFBP-6, and Insulin) were immobilized on the surface of a glass slide in an array format to create an IGF signaling antibody array. Tissue lysates prepared from patient's liver cancer tissues and adjacent tissues were then applied to the arrays.

Background: Numerous studies indicate that tissue factor (TF), namely tissue thromboplastin, has a close relationship with malignant tumor genesis and progress. It contributes to blood coagulation as well as the regulation of cellular differentiation, the formation of blood vessels, and also tumor recurrence and metastasis. The present study aimed to detect TF expression in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) patients and to elucidate its association with prognosis and clinical features of the disease.

Methods: The eukaryotic expression vector bearing siRNA sequence that targeted at TF gene was transfected into human hepatocellular carcinoma cell line HepG2. RT-PCR and Western blot were used to detect the changes of TF gene expression.

Max binding protein (MNT) is a member of the Myc/Max/Mad network that plays a role in cell proliferation, differentiation and apoptosis. We previously observed that MNT was differentially expressed in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) and interacted with Nck1 by 2-DE. Nck family adaptor proteins function to couple tyrosine phosphorylation signals, regulate actin cytoskeletal reorganization and lead to cell motility.

Method: 121 treated cases were retrospectively divided into five groups: 1 (liver transplantation); 2 (transcatheter arterial chemoembolization); 3 (hepatectomy plus thrombectomy); 4 (hepatectomy plus thrombectomy combined with adjuvant chemobiotherapy via portal vein); and 5 (conservative treatment). The Kaplan-Meier method with difference in survival estimated by Log-rank test was used to compare between groups.
