Bromodomain-containing protein 4 (BRD4) has been identified as a promising target in drug discovery, and the development of novel specific BRD4 bromodomain inhibitors will benefit anti-inflammatory drug discovery as well as bromodomain function role disclose. Herein, inspired by marine quinazolinone alkaloid penipanoid C, we designed and synthesized a series of quinazolin-4(3H)-ones with diverse linkers between two aromatic ring systems. Among them, compound 25 possessed good in vitro BRD4 inhibitory activities (IC = 3.

We aimed to compare the safety and effectiveness of ESR-EB with those of ESR-C for gastric muscularis propria lesions less than 10 mm in diameter. A total of 64 patients were enrolled prospectively from May 2023 to November 2023 at Shenzhen Hospital of Southern Medical University, the First Affiliated Hospital of Shantou University, and the People's Hospital of Zhongshan City.

Methods: Tract-based spatial statistics (TBSS) were used to compare the difference in WM fractional anisotropy (FA) between SLE and HCs groups. The differences in WM networks between groups are compared using graph theory.
Objective: A ureteric stone is a type of urinary tract stone that is found within the ureter. While most cases can be managed with conservative treatment or minimally invasive surgery, these methods often cause significant pain for the patient. Interestingly, a new type of ureteroscope has shown considerable promise in treating patients with ureteric stones, and this study aims to explore its clinical application.

Contemporary industrial production and human activity release numerous toxins into our environment. Metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) are potential candidates for addressing these toxins due to their ultrahigh surface area, tailored pore size, and responsiveness to stimuli. With the rise of micro/nanomotor, imparting active motion to MOFs becomes crucial for efficiently performing tasks in challenging locations.

As defined by the World Health Organisation, DCM constitutes a significant cardiac pathology, leading to increased morbidity and mortality due to complications such as heart failure and arrhythmias. The diagnostic process for DCM predominantly employs echocardiography and MRI, with biomarkers like NT-pro BNP and troponin providing supportive, yet non-specific, evidence.

Ultrasound imaging is commonly used to examine the two vaginal malformations, but in fact it's difficult to make an accurate differential diagnosis. This study is intended to assess the performance of multiple deep learning models based on ultrasonographic images for distinguishing longitudinal vaginal septum and oblique vaginal septum.

However, its primary complication, postoperative esophageal stricture, is a significant challenge owing to the absence of effective preventive measures. Adipose-derived stem cells (ADSCs) have emerged as a promising treatment modality to address this concern.

This study compares the biliary microbiota and metabolomic profiles of PDAC patients with those of benign pancreatic disease patients to investigate PDAC pathogenesis and its relationship with immunotherapy.
Methods: A total of 27 patients were recruited, including 15 diagnosed with PDAC and 12 with benign pancreaticobiliary conditions, all of whom underwent surgical treatment.
The aim of this study was to evaluate the biomechanical and osseointegrative properties of 3D printed porous PEEK materials loaded with strontium (Sr) and alendronate (ALN), which prepared porous cylindrical material by a fused deposition molding process, coated with Sr and ALN by hydrothermal reaction and dopamine assistance. According to the different coating materials, it could be divided into the PEEK group, PEEK-ALN group, PEEK-Sr group and PEEK-ALN-Sr group. After completing the mechanical analyses, the materials were implanted into the femoral condyles of New Zealand rabbits and the osteogenic capacity of the bracket materials was assessed by Micro-CT scanning, histology and fluorescence staining.

This study introduces a novel Recurrence Related Gene Signature (RRGS), designed to predict therapy response and enhance prognostic accuracy in colorectal cancer. Through analysis of the GSE17536 cohort, we identified 79 differentially expressed genes (DEGs) between recurrent and non-recurrent cases, comprising 54 upregulated and 25 downregulated genes.

In particular, glia-to-neuron conversion has been achieved in the brain and spinal cord of animal models for neural regeneration and repair. However, whether glia-to-neuron conversion can be used for brain repair in humans needs to be explored.

Methods: A prospective observational study was conducted on young patients with early breast cancer who underwent surgery from March 2021 to March 2022. Mental status questionnaires were administered at four key time points: preoperatively, 1 month, 6 months and 1 year postoperatively.
Background And Purpose: Predicting rupture risk in small intracranial aneurysms (IAs) < 5 mm is crucial for guiding clinical decisions. This study aims to identify key clinical and morphological risk factors associated with rupture in small IAs, providing better insight for decision-making.
Methods: A retrospective analysis was performed on patients with small IAs from one center, with external validation data from another center.
Soil microbes are crucial for ecosystem health and functioning, playing key roles in decomposing organic matter, nutrient cycling, and carbon sequestration. Mycorrhizal fungi, a vital group of soil microbes, establish symbiotic relationships with plant roots, enhancing plant nutrient uptake and improving soil structure. Globally nitrogen (N) enrichment is recognized as a significant regulator of soil microbial communities.
