Article Synopsis
  • * A total of 15 patients were involved, with conditions primarily related to basal cell carcinoma and trauma, and all procedures were successful without complications like flap necrosis.
  • * Patients reported good satisfaction levels long-term, indicating that this flap technique is a viable alternative to using free flaps for eyelid reconstruction.

It has been previously reported that exosomes derived from human umbilical cord mesenchymal stem cells (hucMSC)‑exosomes exhibit cardioprotective effects on the rat acute myocardial infarction (AMI) models and cardiomyocyte hypoxia injury models in vitro, however the exact mechanisms involved require further investigation. The present study aimed to investigate the repair effects of hucMSC‑exosomes on myocardial injury via the regulation of mothers against decapentaplegic homolog 7 (Smad7) expression. Compared with sham or normoxia groups (in vivo and in vitro, respectively), western blotting demonstrated that Smad7 expression was significantly decreased in the borderline area of infraction myocardium and in H9C2(2‑1) cells following hypoxia‑induced injury.

Gastric cancer tissue-derived mesenchymal stem cells (GC-MSCs) are important resident stromal cells in the tumor microenvironment (TME) and have been shown to play a key role in gastric cancer progression. Whether GC-MSCs exert a tumor-promoting function by affecting anti-tumor immunity is still unclear. In this study, we used GC-MSC conditioned medium (GC-MSC-CM) to pretreat peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMCs) from healthy donors.

Article Synopsis
  • The paper discusses a new method for displaying colors using tunable micro/nano-structures, which can change color without the need for ink, creating potential for inkless printing technologies.
  • It introduces a design that adjusts the height of a micro/nano-structure array by applying external voltage, allowing for dynamic color modulation through precise control of structural parameters.
  • Simulation results indicate that this technique can achieve full color variation efficiently when the structure's period is between 100-300 nm, making it beneficial for applications in printing and display technologies.

Objective: to explore the effect of catheter based renal synthetic denervation on renin-angiotensin-aldosterone system (RAAS) and blood pressure reduction in patients with resistant hypertension. and assess the validity and security of the treatment.

Methods: Ten patients with resistant hypertension from June 2011 to December 2011 were retrospectively reviewed, and then all of 10 patients screened for eligibility were allocated to renal denervation.
