MicroRNAs (miRNAs) have been reported to play important roles in tumor progression of various cancers. However, the clinical significance and biologic function of miR-766 in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) remain unknown. In this study, we investigated the roles of miR-766 in HCC progression using HCC cell lines and a xenograft mouse model.

Atherosclerosis is a chronic inflammatory disease involved in endothelial dysfunction. Pyroptosis is a pro-inflammatory form of cell death and plays pivotal roles in atherosclerosis. MicroRNAs (miRNAs) are implicated in atherosclerosis, however the mechanisms that underlie miR-30c-5p is required for endothelial cell pyroptosis remain elusive.

The 2-port MIR can be fabricated with deeply etched waveguides of the MCI laser with no extra fabrication process, which decreases the fabrication complexity greatly. To reduce the loss arising from mode mismatch between surface and deep ridge waveguides, a tapered shallow-deep transition structure is designed and fabricated with a loss of 0.

Most reported organic white-light emitters rely on the combination of several components that emit different colors of light (red/green/blue or orange/blue), which may cause problems to stability, reproducibility and device fabrication. By contrast, white-light emission from single-molecule systems offers opportunities to overcome these disadvantages, meanwhile engendering white-light with high quality.

Methods: From January 2014 to June 2017, 92 consecutive cases of patients with stages I-III distal gastric cancer were divided into 2 groups: laparoscopic radical gastrectomy plus standard D lymph node dissection (SD group, n = 44) and modularized rEME (rEME group, n = 48). Evaluations were made in terms of the operative data, pathological results, recovery time of digestive tract functions, complications, and length of stay.
In the present work, twenty-five nicotinoyl pyrazoline derivates bearing N-methyl indole moiety have been designed and synthesized. The biological evaluation of these compounds as tubulin assembly inhibitors revealed that most of them were potential antitumor agents. Among them, compound 28 exhibited most potency against cancer cell line panels (GI = 29-90 nM for HeLa, HepG2 and MCF-7 cells) without toxicity to non-tumor cells (CC > 300 μM for 293 T cell), bound to the colchicine site of tubulin and displayed excellent inhibitory activity in tubulin assembly assay (IC = 1.

Bmi1 protein is essential for survival and proliferation of HCC cancer stem cells (CSCs). Here, we report that Bmi1 siRNA (Bmi1siR) loaded in cationic nanocapsules of cisplatin (NPC) eliminated stem cells in situ HCC in mice.

Patients And Methods: Between 2011 and 2016, 234 AAD patients were selected. Recurrent pain was defined as a mean of VAS > 3, within 48 hours following hospital admission or before emergency operation.
Nanocomposites, based on iron salts and soluble flaxseed gum (FG), were prepared as potential treatments of iron deficiency anemia (IDA). FG was extracted, characterized, and formulated into iron-loading nanocomposites via ion-exchange against FeCl, Fe(SO), FeCl, and FeSO·7HO. FG-iron nanocomposites preparation condition was optimized, and physicochemical properties of the nanocomposites were investigated.

Conventional chemotherapeutic agents such as cisplatin (CDDP) have an unsatisfactory efficacy on HCC due to the poor response, severe toxicity and drug resistance. Curcumin (CUR) could improve the chemosensitivity of HCC to chemotherapy drugs by regulating a variety of signaling pathways.

High dose of gonadotropins can be detrimental to oocyte development, which affects its quality and compromises the treatment outcome. Mild stimulation protocols that attract low dose gonadotropins could be useful alternative regimen to address such problems.

Pure organic, heavy-atom-free room-temperature phosphorescence (RTP) materials have attracted much attention and have potential applications in photoelectric and biochemical material fields owing to their rich excited state properties. They offer long luminescent lifetime, diversified design, and facile preparation. However, recent achievements of efficient phosphorescence under ambient conditions mainly focus on ordered crystal lattices or embedding into rigid matrices, which require strict growth conditions and have poor reproducibility.

However, the effect of late reperfusion (> 12 h) remains controversial. In this study, the effects of late reperfusion versus standard drug therapy on the outcomes of patients with AMI were evaluated by systematic review and meta-analysis.

Interesterified blends crystallize more slowly than BT. Conversely, the crystallization rates of PMF-BT-based interesterification (IE) products were compared with the starting mixture and IE products prepared with non-PMF triglycerides.

In this study, doxorubicin (DOX) and imatinib (IM) were co-loaded into folate receptor targeted (FR-targeted) pH-sensitive liposomes (denoted as FPL-DOX/IM) to fulfill intracellular acid-sensitive release and reverse drug resistance. FPL-DOX/IM could maintain stability in blood circulation with approximate diameters of 100 nm and rapidly release encapsulated drugs in tumor acidic microenvironment.

Increased time-dependent loss of memory precision is characterized by an overgeneralization of fear in individuals with post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) or age-related cognitive impairments. In the hippocampal dentate gyrus (DG), memories are thought to be encoded by so-called 'engram-bearing' dentate granule cells (eDGCs).
