Loss of the tubulin-binding protein STMN2 is implicated in amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) but how it protects neurons is not known. STMN2 is known to turn over rapidly and accumulate at axotomy sites. We confirmed fast turnover of STMN2 in U2OS cells and iPSC-derived neurons and showed that degradation occurs mainly by the ubiquitin-proteasome system.

Superconducting quantum computing emerges as one of the leading candidates for achieving quantum advantage. However, a prevailing challenge is the coding overhead due to limited quantum connectivity, constrained by nearest-neighbor coupling among superconducting qubits. Here, we propose a novel multimode coupling scheme using three resonators driven by two microwaves, based on the resonator-induced phase gate, to extend the ZZ interaction distance between qubits.

In the task of multiview multilabel (MVML) classification, each instance is represented by several heterogeneous features and associated with multiple semantic labels. Existing MVML methods mainly focus on leveraging the shared subspace to comprehensively explore multiview consensus information across different views, while it is still an open problem whether such shared subspace representation is effective to characterize all relevant labels when formulating a desired MVML model. In this article, we propose a novel label-driven view-specific fusion MVML method named L-VSM, which bypasses seeking for a shared subspace representation and instead directly encodes the feature representation of each individual view to contribute to the final multilabel classifier induction.

Stathmins are small, unstructured proteins that bind tubulin dimers and are implicated in several human diseases, but whose function remains unknown. We characterized a new stathmin, STMND1 (Stathmin Domain Containing 1) as the human representative of an ancient subfamily. STMND1 features a N-terminal myristoylated and palmitoylated motif which directs it to membranes and a tubulin-binding stathmin-like domain (SLD) that contains an internal nuclear localization signal.

In this research, the MIL-47/ACET/Nafion/GCE electrochemical senser for the determination of diethylstilbestrol (DES) was prepared with vanadyl sulfate (VOSO·HO) and terephthalic acid (HBDC) as the main raw materials, compounded with acetylene black (ACET) and perfluorosulfonic acid polymer (Nafion). The compound DES belongs to the category of estrogens, and prolonged exposure to the environment can have detrimental effects on the physiological functioning of both humans and animals. Due to the strong DES enrichment performance of MIL-47(V-MOFs) with large specific surface area, in addition to the excellent conductivity and electrocatalysis of composite materials, this modified senser had good electrochemical response to DES.

A simple and ultrasensitive sandwich-type electrochemiluminescence (ECL) immunosensor has been developed using porous three-dimensional gold nanoparticles (Au NPs) iron(Fe)-zinc(Zn) metal-organic frameworks (Au NPs-FeZn-MOFs@luminol) as high-efficiency ECL signal probes with Fe single-atom catalysts (SACs) (Fe-N-C SACs) as potentially advanced coreaction accelerators and dissolved oxygen as a coreaction agent to realize an HO-free amplification method for detecting carcinoembryonic antigen (CEA). The cathodic ECL of luminol, which was usually negligible, increased first. Because the Fe-N-C SACs exhibited an outstanding catalytic performance and a unique electronic structure, different reactive oxygen species (ROS) were generated via the oxygen reduction reaction.

Using construction and demolition waste composites (CDWC) and fly ash (FA) to replace cement to produce concrete can reduce CO emissions. However, the CDWC-based geopolymer materials have two imperfections: the compressive strength is prone to decrease with the increase of curing age (strength shrinkage) under heat curing conditions, and the strength develops slowly under ambient curing conditions. To solve the problems of these materials, on the one hand, we designed an experiment of preparing CDWC-based geopolymer concrete (CDWGC) with pretreated CDWC at different high temperatures.
