Article Synopsis
  • The research on nerve repair for bilateral vocal cord paralysis (BVCP) has a historical background of over a hundred years, but still lacks standardized surgical procedures and effectiveness evaluations due to complex laryngeal nerve innervation.
  • Otolaryngologists continue to refine surgical approaches to alleviate airway obstruction, preserve vocal function, and minimize cough, with significant variability in treatment methods across different medical institutions.
  • While numerous studies exist on BVCP treatment, there is a scarcity of research focused specifically on nerve repair technologies, prompting an overview of current advancements and future directions in this field.
