Introduction: This study aims to evaluate the early predictive value for postoperative sepsis and 30-day mortality in liver transplant patients using sequential organ failure assessment (SOFA).
Methods: A total of 96 liver transplant patients were enrolled into this study from February 2015 to June 2018. The general information, biochemical findings, and postoperative 30-day mortality of these patients were statistically analyzed.
Objective: To compare the neurologic outcome after the active abdominal compression-decompression cardiopulmonary resuscitation (AACD-CPR) and chest compression cardiopulmonary resuscitation (STD-CPR) in asphyxia cardiac arrest (CA).
Methods: A prospective multicenter randomized controlled trial (RCT) was conducted. Adult patients with CA because of asphyxia such as drowning, airway obstruction admitted to Zhengzhou People's Hospital and Sanmenxia Central Hospital from June 2014 to December 2017 were enrolled.

Objective: To explore the predictive value of partial pressure of end-tidal carbon dioxide (PCO) on the effect of active abdominal compression-decompression cardiopulmonary resuscitation (AACD-CPR) and serum S100B protein on cerebral function.
Methods: 142 adult patients with in-hospital cardiac arrest (IHCA) AACD-CPR in Zhengzhou People's Hospital, Affiliated Southern Medical University from September 2014 to December 2017 were enrolled. Patients were divided into successful group and failure group according to restoration of spontaneous circulation (ROSC) or not; and then according to Glasgow-Pittsburgh cerebral performance categories (CPC) one month after ROSC, the successful group was divided into good prognosis group (CPC 1-2) and poor prognosis group (CPC 3-5) further.

We present the dynamic model of global coupled neuronal population subject to external stimulus by the use of phase sensitivity function. We investigate the effect of time-varying coupling strength on the synchronized phase response of neural population subjected to external harmonic stimulus. For a time-periodic coupling strength, we found that the stimulus with increasing intensity or frequency can reinforce the phase response synchronization in neuronal population of the weakly coupled neural oscillators, and the neuronal population with stronger coupling strength has good adaptability to stimulus.

We proposed a higher-order coupling neural network model including the inhibitory neurons and examined the dynamical evolution of average number density and phase-neural coding under the spontaneous activity and external stimulating condition. The results indicated that increase of inhibitory coupling strength will cause decrease of average number density, whereas increase of excitatory coupling strength will cause increase of stable amplitude of average number density. Whether the neural oscillator population is able to enter the new synchronous oscillation or not is determined by excitatory and inhibitory coupling strength.

We found that with increasing the coupling coefficients of inhibitory neural oscillators, the firing density in excitatory population transits to a critical state. In this case, when we increase the inhibitory coupling, the firing density will come into dynamic balance again and tend to a fixed value gradually.

Methods: BALF of 63 patients with lung cancer and 31 patients with non-cancerous pulmonary disease was collected, and telomerase activity was detected with silver-stained TRAP. Brush cytology and BALF cytology were carried out simultaneously.
