Safe and effective vaccination is important for rabies prevention. Here, genetically engineered rabies vaccine CAV2-deltaE3-Rgp was developed and characterized. The recombinant genome pPoly2-CAV2-deltaE3-Rgp carrying the rabies glycoprotein (Rgp) cDNA was generated by a series of strictly gene cloning steps and infectious recombinant virus CAV2-deltaE3-Rgp was obtained by transfecting the recombinant genome into a canine kidney cell line, MDCK.

To develop a new type of vaccine for Felidae influenza prevention, recombinant replication-competent canine adenovirus Type 2 expressing hemagglutinin gene of H5N1 subtype tiger influenza virus was constructed. A/tiger/Harbin/01/2003 (HSN1) HA gene was cloned into PVAX1.

Although several genetically engineered rabies vaccines have been developed, few have been licensed for use, principally due to biosafety concerns or due to poor efficacy in animal models. In this paper, we describe the construction and characterization of a replication-competent recombinant canine adenovirus type-2 expressing the rabies virus glycoprotein (SRV9 strain) by a different strategy from that reported previously, i.

The complete S1 expression cassette was subcloned into the shuttle vector pVAXE3, then further cloned into the backbone vector pPoly2-CAV2 containing complete genome of CAV-2. To gain the recombinant Canine adenovirus, the recombinant plasmid pCAV-2-CCV-S1 was linearized by Cla I/Asc I to release recombinant genome, and then transfected into MDCK cell.

While civets on farms were largely free from SARS-CoV infection, approximately 80% of the animals from one animal market in Guangzhou contained significant levels of antibody to SARS-CoV, which suggests no widespread infection among civets resident on farms, and the infection of civets in the market might be associated with trading activities under the conditions of overcrowding and mixing of various animal species.

The 62 sera samples of giant pandas, which were gathered from zoos and reserve region of Sichuan Province, China were detected. The neutralization antibody titer of 1:4 was recognized as the positive criterion, 8 sera samples were detected to be positive, and the positive rate was 12.
