Background: Chinese patent medicine is commonly used in China as an important treatment mechanism to thwart the progression of chronic kidney disease (CKD) stages 3-5, among which Niaoduqing granules are a representative Chinese patent medicine; however, its long-term efficacy on CKD prognosis remains unclear.
Methods: Patients were grouped according to Niaoduqing granule prescription duration (non-Niaoduqing granule (non-NDQ) group vs Niaoduqing granule (NDQ) group). Serum creatinine (SCr) variation was compared using a generalized linear mixed model (GLMM).
Background: Lipid management in clinic is critical to the prevention and treatment of Chronic kidney disease (CKD), while the manifestations of lipid indicators vary in types and have flexible association with CKD prognosis.
Purpose: Explore the associations between the widely used indicators of lipid metabolism and their distribution in clinic and CKD prognosis; provide a reference for lipid management and inform treatment decisions for patients with non-dialysis CKD stage 3-5.
Methods: This is a retrospective cohort study utilizing the Self-Management Program for Patients with Chronic Kidney Disease Cohort (SMP-CKD) database of 794 individuals with CKD stages 3-5.
Background: The upregulation of interferon (IFN)-stimulated genes induced by type I IFNs (namely type I IFN signature) in rheumatoid arthritis (RA) patients had implications in early diagnosis and prediction of therapy responses. However, factors that modulate the type I IFN signature in RA are largely unknown. In this study, we aim to explore the involvement of VGLL3, a homologue of the vestigial-like gene in Drosophila and a putative regulator of the Hippo pathway, in the modulation of type I IFN signature in the fibroblast-like synoviocytes (FLS) of RA patients.

Design: A retrospective cohort study. We used univariate and multivariate Cox regression analysis to select the relevant predictors.
Background: Chronic kidney disease (CKD) is a major global health problem. Short-term self-management has been considered to effect some renal and psychological endpoints. However, there are currently very few studies about self-management for CKD that a) have been scientifically designed by a theory-based framework and b) that evaluate the long-term effects and working mechanism.

Fibroblast-like synoviocytes (FLS) in the synovial tissue of rheumatoid arthritis (RA) exhibit over-proliferative and aggressive phenotypes, which participate in the pathophysiology of RA. In RA, little is known about the nonantioxidant effect of nuclear factor erythroid 2-related factor 2 (nrf2), the master regulator of redox homeostasis. In this study, we aimed to explore the expression and upstream regulatory factors of nrf2 and revealed its functions in modulating the proliferation and invasion in RA-FLS.

Materials And Methods: Firstly, we refined the version-1 scale using IRT analyses to examine the discrimination parameter (a), difficulty parameter (b) and maximum information function peak (Imax). The final scale refinement from version-1 to version-2 scale was also decided upon clinical considerations.
Cotton ( spp.) is one of the most important economic crops and exhibits yield-improving heterosis in specific hybrid combinations. The genic male-sterility system is the main strategy used for producing heterosis in cotton.

This study evaluated the safety and efficacy of dezocine for emergence agitation in preschool children anesthetized with sevoflurane-remifentanil.
Methods: A total of 100 preschool children, scheduled for elective laparoscopic repair of an inguinal hernia by high ligation of the hernia sac under sevoflurane-remifentanil anesthesia were randomized into two groups: Group C (n = 50) received Ringer's lactate 10 mL and Group D received Ringer's lactate 10 mL containing dezocine 0.

In this work, two open-porous magnesium scaffolds with different pore size but in the nearly same porosity are successfully fabricated with high-purity Mg ingots through the titanium wire space holder (TWSH) method. The porosity and pore size can be easily, precisely and individually controlled, as well as the mechanical properties also can be regulated to be within the range of human cancellous bone by changing the orientation of pores without sacrifice the requisite porous structures.

The therapeutic goal is to alleviate or eliminate pain, correct deformities, improve or restore joint functions, and improve the quality of life. This study aimed to evaluate the efficacy and safety of Zhuanggu joint capsules combined with celecoxib and the benefit of treatment with Zhuanggu alone for KOA.

Fibroblasts in the interface membrane express receptor activator of nuclear factor kappa B ligand (RANKL) and stimulate osteoclast formation. Studies demonstrate that through the control of osteoclastic bone loss bisphosphonates inhibit wear particle-induced bone resorption around total hip arthroplasty.

Lower limb length balancing is one of the determining factors of a successful surgery, particularly in patients with developmental dysplasia of the hip (DDH). The purpose of this study was to evaluate the postoperative change in intra-pelvic obliquity (intra-PO) angle in the coronal plane and its effects on leg length discrepancy (LLD) within 2 years.

The clinical relevance of the study is that through finding a reliable landmark on the leg, a surgeon may minimize posterior tibial slope measurement errors thereby and improving the technique for assuring proper alignment of total knee arthroplasty.
Methods: The material for this study included CT scans of the tibia from 85 consecutive patients and 168 knees (78 without osteoarthritis (OA) and 90 knees with OA).
Ideberg type III glenoid fractures with associated superior shoulder suspensory complex (SSSC) injuries are rare, and related treatments have not been reported in the literature. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the clinical outcomes of such injuries treated with open reduction and internal fixation (ORIF). Between July 2007 and April 2012, ten patients with Ideberg type III glenoid fractures were surgically treated using ORIF with 2 cannulated screws or a screw combined with a metacarpal plate through an anterior approach.

In this study, a comparative proteomic analysis was performed in resistant cotton (Gossypium barbadense cv7124) on infection with V. dahliae.

A good acetabular fit and metaphyseal filling between the prostheses and implants improve the initial stabilization, and optimize the transmission of forces to the bone. A precise knowledge of the three-dimensional acetabular or femoral shape is essential to the selection of adapted implants.

Implant-derived particles are thought to be a main cause of osteolysis that leads to the failure. Substance P (SP) immunoreactive nerve fibers have been detected in the periprosthetic membrane of aseptic loose hip prostheses.

Objective: To explore the effect ofβ-TCP/PLLA scaffold in repairing rabbit radial bone defects.
Methods: Thirty New Zealand rabbits were divided into β-TCP /PLLA group (group A), pure PLLA group (group B) and contrast group (group C) randomly. The rabbits were sacrificed respectively after 4, 8, 12, 24 weeks and the X-ray film was performed at the same time to evaluate the repair effect in different groups.
