Vagus nerve stimulation (VNS) has been commonly employed for the functional rehabilitation of stroke patients. This study aimed to investigate the therapeutic effects of transcranial direct current stimulation on the vagus nerve (TDCSVN) in improving dysphagia in stroke patients. Patients experiencing dysphagia following a stroke were diagnosed with dysphagia by a water swallow test.

Materials And Methods: A search of Medline, Embase, Web of Science and Cochrane Library was conducted up to September 30, 2024. All studies were considered, covering all CNS NGGCT patients with an informative treatment approach.
Background: To determine the optimal treatment modality for intracranial germinoma (IG).
Materials And Methods: A search of Medline, Embase, Web of Science and Cochrane Library was conducted up to April, 2024. Pooled risk ratio (RR) and 95% confidence interval (CI) were calculated.
Objective: Optimizing clinical decision-making in head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (HNSCC) is challenging due to the ambiguous understanding of the immune cell dynamics and immune checkpoints regulation in the disease after the administration of neoadjuvant immunotherapy (NIT).
Methods: HNSCC biopsy samples collected before and after the neoadjuvant treatment are classified into the pathologic response (PR) and the non-pathologic response (NPR) groups according to treatment responses and the expression of immune cells and checkpoints was labeled using multiplex immunohistochemistry (m-IHC).
Results: The populations of CD4 T cells, CD8 T cells, regulatory T cells (Treg), PD-1, and PD-L1 were particularly higher in the PR group than the NPR group in pre-treatment tissues, with the p-values of log-transformed positive cell density <0.
Background: The detection rate of vancomycin-resistant Enterococcus faecium (VREfm) displayed a dramatic increase in Guangdong, China, from 2021 to 2023, for which the molecular epidemiology and genomic characteristics remain largely unexplored. In this study, we investigated the genetic features and epidemiology of VREfm isolates in Guangdong.
Methods: A total of 54 Guangdong VREfm isolates were collected from three tertiary hospitals in Guangdong.
Background: With the increasing demand for total hip arthroplasty (THA) and the inevitable trend of orthopedic robots and artificial intelligence in the future, it is necessary to explore the safety and effectiveness of orthopedic robots in THA. Currently, most orthopedic robots are in the early stages of development, and evaluating their clinical efficacy can assist in making informed decisions for practical use.
Objective: To explore the advantages of 7 types of robot-assisted THA with respect to 5 indicators.
The plant peptide-containing sulfated tyrosine (PSY) family plays critical roles in plant cell proliferation and stress responses. However, the functional characterization of the PSY peptide family in wheat remains unclear. This study systematically identified a total of 29 genes at the genome-wide level, classifying them into six subgroups based on PSY-like motifs.

Methods: A total of 457 NTS isolates were collected from a tertiary hospital in Guangzhou.
Objective: To investigate the clinical effect of anterior cervical discectomy and fusion (ACDF) in the treatment of cervical spondylosis of vertebral artery type(CSA).
Methods: The clinical data of 42 patients with CSA from January 2020 to January 2022 were retrospectively analyzed. There were 25 males and 17 females, aged from 30 to 74 years old with an average of (53.
Background: MMP-9 plays a crucial role in regulating the degradation of proteins within the extracellular matrix (ECM). This process closely correlates with the occurrence, development, invasion, and metastasis of various tumors, each exhibiting diverse levels of MMP-9 expression. However, the accuracy of detection results using the single-mode method is compromised due to the coexistence of multiple biologically active substances in the ECM.

A better way to predict occult metastasis in the lateral neck is needed.
Methods: From January 2010 to January 2022, patients who were diagnosed with MTC and underwent primary surgery at our hospital were retrospectively reviewed.
This study aimed to investigate the efficacy of thymosin α1 combined with XELOX in improving immune function and reducing serum tumor markers in patients with colorectal cancer (CRC) after radical surgery. A total of 180 patients who underwent radical surgery for CRC were divided into two groups: an observation group ( = 94) receiving thymosin α1 in combination with XELOX and a control group ( = 86) receiving XELOX alone. Immune function, inflammatory factor levels, serum tumor markers, and quality of life were assessed before and after treatment.

This study retrospectively analyzed its mid-term outcomes for uncomplicated type B aortic dissection in a multicenter study.
Methods: The primary safety end point was 30-day major adverse events, including all-cause mortality, dissection-related mortality, conversion to open surgery, and device-related adverse events.
Background: Medullary Thyroid Carcinoma (MTC) is a rare type of thyroid cancer. Accurate prediction of lateral cervical lymph node metastases (LCLNM) in MTC patients can help guide surgical decisions and ensure that patients receive the most appropriate and effective surgery. To our knowledge, no studies have been published that use radiomics analysis to forecast LCLNM in MTC patients.

However, adherence to the Clinical Practice Guidelines for the Prevention and Management of Pain, Agitation/Sedation, Delirium, Immobility, and Sleep Disruption in Adult Patients in the ICU (PADIS guidelines), which recommend the use of the ABCDEF bundle, is sub-optimal in routine clinical care. To address this issue, AI-AntiDelirium, a nurse-led artificial intelligence-assisted prevention and management tool for delirium, was developed by our research team.

We screened 145 B cell marker genes (BCMG) by a comprehensive analysis of single-cell RNA-sequencing (scRNA-seq) data of head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (HNSC) from the Gene Expression Omnibus (GEO) database. The BCMG signature (BCMGS) was established using The Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA) dataset of HNSC and verified in four independent datasets.

Phylogenetic analysis showed that 1104-65 and 1104-75 were closely related to other serovar Typhimurium in this area. The above-mentioned serovar Typhimurium chromosome carries , , and ) genes, so the antibiotic resistance of isolates will be further enhanced after obtaining the pIncFII_NDM5-like plasmid.
