Microplastics, as a novel type of environmental pollutant, have attracted notable attention in environmental research due to their widespread distribution and potential biological toxicity. Drinking water treatment plants play a crucial role in ensuring the safety of the water supply, with a particular focus on the removal efficiency of microplastics in drinking water treatment plants. Different treatment processes in water plants exhibit various removal efficiencies of microplastics and they operate through distinct removal mechanisms.

Article Synopsis
  • - The text discusses the challenges of surgically reconstructing bone defects caused by tumors, specifically due to leftover tumor cells and significant bone loss after surgery.
  • - A new "thermal switch" bone scaffold, made from a silicene-modified decalcified bone matrix (SNS@DBM), is developed to aid in postoperative recovery by using photothermal therapy to destroy tumors and promote bone growth.
  • - This innovative approach has shown promising results in animal studies, improving bone regeneration while preventing tumor recurrence through controlled heating that enhances key biological processes.

Background: Intradural disc herniation (IDH) is a rare type of disc degeneration that infrequently affects the upper lumbar spine. Pre- and intraoperative diagnosis and surgical management of IDH are challenging. The present case study provides insight into these aspects of upper lumbar IDH and discusses possible mechanisms.

Objective: To investigate the effect of Luteolin on proliferation and cell death of human multiple myeloma cell line RPMI-8226 and its mechanisms.

Methods: The effect of Luteolin on the growth of human multiple myeloma cell line RPMI-8226 was detected by CCK-8, and then the minimal effective concentration was determined and was used to treat RPMI-8226 cells. The effects of luteolin and chloroquine on expression of cleaved-caspase 3 and LC3 in RPMI8826 cells was detected by Western blot.

BACKGROUND This study aimed to identify risk factors for vascular injury in proximal femoral fracture through identifying frequency and distances between femur and femoral arteries with computed tomography angiography and 3-dimensional reconstruction. MATERIAL AND METHODS In a series of 400 participants, based on measurement results regarding the distribution of femoral arteries in the medial femur, the femoral portion covering that part was divided into levels A-E. The center region, margin region, and risky area in the medial femur were defined.
