This study assessed the effects of β-mannanase (BM) supplementation on growth performance, digestive enzyme activity, cecal microbial communities, and short-chain fatty acid (SCFA) production in broiler chickens fed diets with different metabolizable energy (ME) levels. A total of 1,296 male 1-d-old Cobb 500 broilers were randomly distributed in a 3 × 2 factorial arrangement (3 ME levels × 0 or 200 g/ton BM), with 6 replicates per treatment combination. The 3 ME levels were 3,000 (ME1), 2,930 (ME2), and 2,860 (ME3) kcal/kg, respectively, during the 0 to 3 wk-old stages and 3,150 (ME1), 3,080 (ME2), and 3,010 (ME3) kcal/kg, respectively, during the 3 to 6 wk-old stages.

Methods And Results: A total of 502 older patients with acute myocardial infarction were studied at Qilu Hospital from September 2017 to March 2022. They were categorized on the basis of ACCI into low (≤5), intermediate (6, 7), and high (≥8) risk groups.
Research has revealed that prolonged or repeated exposure to isoflurane, a common general anesthetic, can lead to cognitive and behavioral deficiencies, particularly in early life. The brain contains a wealth of LanCL1, an antioxidant enzyme that is thought to mitigate oxidative stress. Nevertheless, its precise function in mammals remains uncertain.

Bioengineering of plant immune receptors has emerged as a key strategy for generating novel disease resistance traits to counteract the expanding threat of plant pathogens to global food security. However, current approaches are limited by rapid evolution of plant pathogens in the field and may lack durability when deployed. Here, we show that the rice nucleotide-binding, leucine-rich repeat (NLR) immune receptor Pik-1 can be engineered to respond to a conserved family of effectors from the multihost blast fungus pathogen .

However, the structural instability and sluggish reaction kinetics restrict its further application. Herein, a unique protons intercalation strategy was utilized to simultaneously modify the interlayer environment and transition metal layers of δ-MnO.

Additionally, the incidence and severity of other pathologic myopic maculopathy associated with posterior scleral staphyloma was also evaluated.
Methods: General information and OCT imaging data from 440 patients with posterior scleral staphyloma (PSS) and the PSS curvature > 20×10 μm were collected.
A redox co-precipitation method was employed to synthesize CeMn homogeneous solid solutions, utilizing various alcohols as activating agents. Ethanol effectively orchestrated the precipitation of CeO and MnO, promoting their co-growth. As a result, the CeMn-EA achieved 90 % toluene conversion at 218 ℃ (T =218 ℃) with a weight hourly space velocity (WHSV) of 48000 ml/(g·h).

However, it often comes with high risk, as the inaccurate puncture inevitably causes bleeding, intra- and post-operative complications. So, a new inter-disciplinary approach is needed to perform the puncture more accurately.

C57BL/6 mice were fed with normal diet (NC group) or HFD (HFD group). The time of successful T2DM modeling was evaluated by measuring body weight, fasting blood glucose and glucose tolerance at time points of 0, 4, 8, 12, 16 and 20 weeks.

In recent years, bacteria have gained considerable attention as a promising drug carrier that is critical in improving the effectiveness and reducing the side effects of anti-tumor drugs. Drug carriers can be utilised in various forms, including magnetotactic bacteria, bacterial biohybrids, minicells, bacterial ghosts and bacterial spores. Additionally, functionalised and engineered bacteria obtained through gene engineering and surface modification could provide enhanced capabilities for drug delivery.

Purpose: Engagement in self-injurious thoughts and behaviors (SITBs) is associated with low help-seeking intentions. Nevertheless, prior research has primarily relied on cross-sectional data, leaving uncertainties about the longitudinal dynamics between SITBs and help-seeking intentions. This study aims to investigate the longitudinal relationship between SITBs and help-seeking intentions for them.

Multiple myeloma (MM) is an incurable malignant plasma cell diseases, the incidence of which is increasing year by year. The application of immunomodulators drugs, proteasome inhibitors, anti-CD38 antibodies, CAR-T, and HSCT have significantly improved the prognosis of patients with MM, however new therapeutic tools need to be developed to improve the prognosis of patients with relapsed/refractory after conventional regimens treatment. Bispecific antibodies are a novel immunotherapeutic approach that generates immune synapses by binding to targets on malignant plasma cells and cytotoxic immune effector cells (T cells/natural killer cells), leading to T/NK cells activation and malignant plasma cell lysis.

Objective: To investigate the risk factors of pulmonary infection in patients with acute leukemia (AL) after chemotherapy.
Methods: A total of 294 patients with AL were collected and divided into infection group (=93) and control group (=201) according to whether the pulmonary infection occurred after chemotherapy. Analyze the correlation between sociodemographic data (sex, age, BMI), clinical data (disease type, ECOG score, invasive procedure, underlying disease, hormone therapy, empirical use of antibiotics, prognosis stratification, chemotherapy intensity, primitive cell count, white blood cell count, neutrophil count, duration of granulocyte deficiency, platelet count, hemoglobin, and albumin and pulmonary infection after chemotherapy.
Iridocyclitis and the use of glucocorticoid medication have been widely studied as susceptibility factors for cataracts. However, the causal relationship between them remains unclear. This study aimed to investigate the causal relationship between the development of iridocyclitis and the genetic liability of glucocorticoid medication use on the risk of senile cataracts occurrence by performing Two-sample Mendelian randomization (MR) analyses.
