Article Synopsis
- An experiment was conducted on four rice varieties (Nipponbare, N70, N178, OM052) to investigate how different nitrogen fertilizer application rates (0, 120, 270 kg·hm) affect grain yield and nitrogen use efficiency.
- Results showed that higher nitrogen levels boosted yields, particularly in OM052, which had the highest grain yield and nitrogen agronomic efficiency, while Nipponbare performed the worst.
- Increased nitrogen application also improved rice quality traits, such as protein content and reduced kernels' chalkiness, with significant relationships discovered between yield and quality under lower nitrogen conditions.
