The individualized precision management of hereditary pheochromocytoma (PHEO) and paraganglioma (PGL) syndromes (PPGLs) based on molecular diagnosis and molecular subtype is becoming more popular. The newly discovered germline mutation-associated PPGLs are autosomally dominant and rare. To raise awareness and explore the effective management of individual diagnosis and treatment, the relevant literature published between January 2011 and February was systematically reviewed.

With the improvement of living standards, the global incidence of gout is increasing year by year, which seriously affects people's health. As an effective tool to study diseases, omics technology has been widely used to discover potential biomarkers and risk factors of gout.

It is therefore necessary for clinicians to work toward improving the accuracy of PSP diagnosis.
Case Summary: A 59-year-old male patient presenting with acute urinary retention was admitted to a local hospital.
Background: Renal interstitial fibrosis (RIF) seriously threatens the health of individuals. MiRNAs regulate the progression of fibrosis. Nevertheless, the detailed function of miR-449a in RIF is largely unknown.

Methods: Altogether, 31 patients (54.8% were women) were diagnosed with MEN2-related bPHEOs, and 29 of them underwent varying specific adrenalectomies.
Objectives: To investigate the correlation between the histopathology of the kidney and clinical indicators in patients with lupus nephritis (LN) using magnetic resonance imaging (MRI).
Methods: A total 50 female participants were enrolled in the study. Thirty patients with LN were divided into types 2, 3, 4, and 5, according to their pathological features.
Clear cell renal cell carcinoma (ccRCC) is the most common subtype of renal cancer. The top four mutant genes affecting the occurrence and progression of ccRCC are , and , respectively. Tyrosine kinase/mammalian target of rapamycin inhibitors (TKI/mTORis) with or without immunotherapy are the standard and effective therapy to metastatic ccRCC.

However, little is known about the underlying mechanisms of insect attraction and transmission of plant rhabdoviruses. In this study, we used an arthropod-borne cytorhabdovirus, Barley yellow striate mosaic virus (BYSMV), to demonstrate the molecular mechanisms of a rhabdovirus accessory protein in improving plant attractiveness to insect vectors.

Human renal tissues from chronic kidney disease patients, kidney cell line and primary cultured renal tubular epithelial cells were used. TGF-β1-treated human kidney 2 cells/tubular epithelial cells and a unilateral ureteral obstruction mouse model were employed to study renal fibrosis.

Nonetheless, genetic rescue of plant NSR viruses in both insect vectors and monocot plants is very limited. Northern cereal mosaic virus (NCMV), a plant cytorhabdovirus, causes severe diseases in cereal plants through transmission by the small brown planthopper (SBPH, Laodelphax striatellus) in a propagative manner.

Objective: This study aimed to investigate the role of the lncRNA Dlx6os1/SOX6/EZH2 axis in DN progression.
The brown planthopper (BPH, Nilaparvata lugens), the small brown planthopper (SBPH, Laodelphax striatellus), and the white-backed planthopper (WBPH, Sogatella furcifera) are problematic insect pests and cause severe yield losses through phloem sap-sucking and virus transmission. Barley yellow striate mosaic virus (BYSMV), a plant cytorhabdovirus, has been developed as versatile expression platforms in SBPHs and cereal plants. However, bio-safe overexpression vectors based on recombinant BYSMV (rBYSMV) remain to be developed and applied to the three kinds of planthoppers.

Among these versatile RNA viral vectors, the barley yellow striate mosaic virus (BYSMV)-based expression vector system has outstanding capability to express large and multiple heterologous proteins. Here we describe a detailed protocol for expression of heterologous proteins using BYSMV expression systems in monocot plants and insects.

Although surgical operation can solve the symptoms of obstruction, there are many postoperative complications, and it is easy to develop re-obstruction due to postoperative abdominal adhesion. The internal fixation of small intestine with obstruction catheter provides a new idea for the prevention of postoperative adhesive bowel obstruction.

Objective: To explore the bidirectional regulation of acupuncture based on a subgroup analysis of multicenter randomized controlled trial of acupuncture with for irritable bowel syndrome (IBS).
Methods: A total of 519 patients were included in the analysis, including 137 patients with constipation type irritable bowel syndrome (IBS-C) (92 cases in the acupuncture group and 45 cases in the polyethylene glycol [PEG] group), and 382 patients with diarrhea type irritable bowel syndrome (IBS-D) (252 cases in the acupuncture group and 130 cases in the pinaverium group). The patients in the acupuncture group were given acupuncture at Baihui (GV 20), Yintang (GV 29), Tianshu (ST 25), Shangjuxu (ST 37), Zusanli (ST 36), Sanyinjiao (SP 6) and Taichong (LR 3) once every other day, 3 times a week.
Chiral assemblies by combining natural biomolecules with plasmonic nanostructures hold great promise for plasmonic enhanced sensing, imaging, and catalytic applications. Herein, we demonstrate that human serum albumin (HSA) and porcine serum albumin (PSA) can guide the chiral assembly of gold nanorods (GNRs) with left-handed chiroptical responses opposite to those by a series of other homologous animal serum albumins (SAs) due to the difference of their surface charge distributions. Under physiological pH conditions, the assembly of HSA or PSA with GNRs yielded left-handed twisted aggregates, while bovine serum albumin (BSA), sheep serum albumin, and equine serum albumin behaved on the contrary.
