NVSI-06-08 is a potential broad-spectrum recombinant COVID-19 vaccine that integrates the antigens from multiple SARS-CoV-2 strains into a single immunogen. Here, we evaluate the safety and immunogenicity of NVSI-06-08 as a heterologous booster dose in BBIBP-CorV recipients in a randomized, double-blind, controlled, phase 2 trial conducted in the United Arab Emirates (NCT05069129). Three groups of healthy adults over 18 years of age (600 participants per group) who have administered two doses of BBIBP-CorV 4-6-month, 7-9-month and >9-month earlier, respectively, are randomized 1:1 to receive either a homologous booster of BBIBP-CorV or a heterologous booster of NVSI-06-08.

Methods: Adult intestine-specific -knockout mice ( ) and Dahl salt-sensitive rats were studied on the effect of high salt intake (8% NaCl, 6-7 weeks) on intestinal NaH exchanger 3 expression, urine sodium concentration, and blood pressure. High-salt diet increased urine sodium concentration and systolic blood pressure to a greater extent in mice and Dahl salt-sensitive rats than their respective controls, mice and SS13 rats.

Unlabelled: Rational composition design of trimetallic phosphide catalysts is of significant importance for enhanced surface reaction and efficient catalytic performance. Herein, hierarchical Co Ni Fe P with precise control of stoichiometric metallic elements ( = (1-10):(1-10):1) has been synthesized, and CoNiFeP, as the most optimal composition, exhibits remarkable catalytic activity ( = 320 mV at 10 mA cm) and long-term stability (ignorable decrease after 10 h continuous test at the current density of 10 mA cm) toward oxygen evolution reaction (OER). The increased coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) breakthrough cases pose the need of booster vaccination. We conducted a randomised, double-blinded, controlled, phase 2 trial to assess the immunogenicity and safety of the heterologous prime-boost vaccination with an inactivated COVID-19 vaccine (BBIBP-CorV) followed by a recombinant protein-based vaccine (NVSI-06-07), using homologous boost with BBIBP-CorV as control. Na-ion layered oxide cathodes (NaTMO, TM = transition metal ion(s)), as an analogue of lithium layered oxide cathodes (such as LiCoO, LiNiCoMnO), have received growing attention with the development of Na-ion batteries. However, due to the larger Na radius and stronger Na-Na electrostatic repulsion in NaO slabs, some undesired phase transitions are observed in NaTMO. Herein, we report a high-entropy configuration strategy for NaTMO cathode materials, in which multicomponent TMO slabs with enlarged interlayer spacing help strengthen the whole skeleton structure of layered oxides through mitigating Jahn-Teller distortion, Na/vacancy ordering, and lattice parameter changes.

A novel angle-tuned ring coil is proposed for improving the depth-spread performance of transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) coils and serve as the building blocks for high-performance composite coils and multisite TMS systems.Improving depth-spread performance by reducing field divergence through creating a more elliptical emitted field distribution from the coil. Based on the widely studied two-dimensional layered materials, new materials with unique properties can be acquired by stacking the layered materials with different styles. By using density-functional calculations and symmetry analysis, we here present a route to produce abundant topologically nontrivial electronic states in three-dimensional compounds made of stacked monolayer hydrogenated group-IV binary alloys. Triply degenerate point (TDP) semimetals and Dirac semimetals are found in the hydrogenated SnPb compounds with different stacking configurations.

In the presence of a halide ion, hypohalous acids can adopt two binding motifs upon formation of the ion-molecule complexes [XHOY] (X, Y = Cl, Br, I): a hydrogen (HB) bond to the acid OH group and a halogen (XB) bond between the anion and the acid halogen. Here we isolate the X-bonded Cl·IOH ion-molecule complex by collisions of I·(HO) clusters with HOCl vapor and measure its vibrational spectrum by IR photodissociation of the H-tagged complex.
