Two-dimensional (2D) ion crystals may represent a promising path to scale up qubit numbers for ion trap quantum information processing. However, to realize universal quantum computing in this system, individually addressed high-fidelity two-qubit entangling gates still remain challenging due to the inevitable micromotion of ions in a 2D crystal as well as the technical difficulty in 2D addressing. Here we demonstrate two-qubit entangling gates between any ion pairs in a 2D crystal of four ions.

Compared with research on the X/Y and Z/W chromosomes, which have long evolutionary histories in mammals and birds, studies on the sex chromosomes at early evolutionary stages are limited. Here, we precisely assembled the genomes of homozygous XX female and YY male Lanzhou catfish (Silurus lanzhouensis) derived from an artificial gynogenetic family and a self-fertilized family, respectively.

However, its photocatalytic applications are restricted due to its narrow visible-light absorption range and poor photooxidation capability. In this study, BiOBrI with rich surface Br vacancies (BrVs-rich BiOBrI) was created via a facile indirect substitution strategy.

However, large-scale controllable preparation of single-atom catalysts (SACs) with high concentration of supported metal-N is still a big challenge because of the metal atom agglomeration during synthesis at high density and temperatures. Herein, we report a stepwise anchoring strategy from a 1,10--phenanthroline Pt chelate to an N-doped carbon (NC) with isolated Pt single-atom catalysts (Pt-NC) containing Pt loadings up to 5.

Recently, we created YY-supermale yellow catfish by crossing XY males with sex-reversed XY females, providing a valuable model for Y-chromosome assembly and evolution. Here, we assembled highly homomorphic Y and X chromosomes by sequencing genomes of the YY supermale and XX female in yellow catfish, revealing their nucleotide divergences with only less than 1% and with the same gene compositions.

Perovskites based on CsPbX (X = Cl, Br, I) have promising applications in solar cells, light-emitting diodes, and photodetectors. In this paper, the phase stability of inorganic metal halide perovskite CsPbCl under hydrostatic pressure and anion substitution is studied using density functional theory (DFT), and this modification is explained by the interaction of the octahedrons and transformation of the bond-orbital coupling. In addition, two space groups, 4/ and 2, which are stable under stress, are subjected to anion substitution; then, the structural stability and band gap change of CsPbClX (X = Br, I; = 0, 1, 2, 3) are analyzed after applying stress; finally, the electronic structures and optical properties of the six most stable components are presented.

The aim of this study was to develop an analogue-to-digital typodont system to quantify the effects of archwire activations on individual typodont teeth in three dimensions.
Methods: The typodont system was developed using CAD/CAM technology.
Single-phase phosphors with tunable emission colors are crucial to develop high-performance white light-emitting diodes since they are valuable to improve the energy efficiency, color rendering index, and correlated color temperature. Most of the studies have been conducted to control the spectral shifts via a polyhedral distortion or chemical unit cosubstitution strategy. The combination of host optimization and dopant activator design in a single-phase phosphor system is very rare.

Design: Retrospective cohort study.
Methods: This multicenter study included 2552 patients diagnosed with retinoblastoma in 38 medical centers in 31 provinces in China from 1989 to 2017, with follow-up data.
Background: Total hip arthroplasty (THA) is increasingly performed in younger patients despite the lack of comprehensive assessment of long-term outcomes. We systematically reviewed the contemporary literature to assess the 1) indications, 2) implant selection and long-term survivorship, 3) complication and reoperation rates and 4) radiographic and functional outcomes of primary THA in patients younger than 55 years.
Methods: We searched the Embase and MEDLINE databases for English-language articles published between 2000 and 2018 that reported outcomes of primary THA in patients younger than 55 years with a minimum follow-up duration of 10 years.
Tuberculosis (TB) is caused by infection of Mycobacterium tuberculosis. Host genetic variability is an important determinant of the risk of developing TB in humans. Although the association between MBL2 polymorphisms and TB has been studied in various populations, the results are controversial.

This study aimed to estimate the numbers of stroke patients who would be eligible for the polypill strategy in China, and the suitable composition of a polypill, based on data of the China National Stroke Prevention Project.
Methods: A total of 717 620 residents aged ≥40 years from 6 Chinese representative provinces were screened for prevalent stroke from 2011 to 2012 with an 84.
Low cost and high performance white polymer light-emitting diodes (PLEDs) are very important as solid-state lighting sources. In this research three commercially available phosphors were carefully chosen, bis[2-(4,6-difluorophenyl)pyridinato-N,C(2)](picolinate)iridium(III) (FIrpic), bis[2-(2-pyridinyl-N)phenyl-C](2,4-pentanedionato-O(2),O(4))iridium(III) [Ir(ppy)2(acac)], and bis(2-phenyl-benzothiazole-C(2),N)(acetylacetonate)iridium(III) [Ir(bt)2(acac)], plus a home-made red phosphor of tris[1-(2,6-dimethylphenoxy)-4-(4-chlorophenyl)phthalazine]iridium(III) [Ir(MPCPPZ)3], and their photophysical and morphological properties were systematically studied as well as their applications in single-emission layer white PLEDs comprising poly(N-vinylcarbazole) as host. Additionally, the electrochemical properties and energy level alignment, possible energy transfer process, and thin-film morphology were also addressed.
