In this study, FeCoNiCrSi (x = 0, 4, and 8) powders were successfully prepared using the aerosol method and employed to produce high-entropy coatings on Q235 steel via laser cladding. The microstructure and phase composition of the coatings were analyzed using scanning electron microscopy, energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy, and X-ray diffraction. Corrosion resistance and potential were evaluated through electrochemical analysis and Kelvin probe force microscopy.

Prophylactic HPV vaccines have been recommended and have significant efficacy in preventing cervical cancer. Multivalent HPV vaccines have a better preventative effect on HPV-related diseases.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFTin sulphide compounds (SnS, x = 1, 2) are potential anode materials for potassium-ion batteries (PIBs) due to their characteristic layered structure, high theoretical capacity, non-toxicity and low production cost. However, they suffer from significant volume changes resulting in poor performance of such anodes. In this work incorporation of SnS into the carbon structure was expected to overcome these disadvantages.

However, little evidence has focused on the effect of age on prognosis. This study aimed to explore whether EC-IC bypass surgery can provide greater benefits than medical therapy alone in specific age groups.

Green ammonia synthesis using fluctuating renewable energy supply in decentralized process is a goal that has been long sought after. Ammonia synthesis with non-thermal plasma under mild conditions is a promising technology, but it faces the critical challenge of low energy efficiency. Herein, we develop an easily-scalable AuCu/Cu catalyst, which consists of a decimeter-scale metallic Cu antenna and nano-scale AuCu catalytic sites on metallic Cu surface, significantly enhancing the energy efficiency and ammonia yield in a radio-frequency (RF) plasma system.

In the paper, a series of CsCuClxBr3-x (x = 1, 2, 3) MHP microcrystals were developed and their hydrogen evolution performance in ethanol and HX (X = Cl, Br) was also studied. Among them, CsCuCl3 microcrystals exhibit high hydrogen evolution performance in both HX and ethanol, attributed to their longest average lifetime and suitable band structure.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFAmmonium-ion supercapacitors (AISCs) offer considerable potential for future development owing to their low cost, high safety, environmental sustainability, and efficient electrochemical energy storage capabilities. The rapid and efficient charge-transfer process at the AISC can endow them with high capacitive and cycling stabilities. However, the prolonged intercalation/deintercalation of NH in layered and framework materials often results in the cleavage of the active sites and the deconstruction of the framework, which makes it difficult to achieve long-term stable energy storage while maintaining high capacitance in the electrode materials.

To efficiently treat rhodamine B (RhB) and tetracycline (TC) in wastewater, MIL-101(Cr) was prepared by hydrothermal method and encapsulated with phosphotungstic acid (HPWO, abbreviated as PTA) to form an S-scheme heterojunction PTA@MIL-101(Cr)-x (P@M-x, x = 50, 100, 150, 200). The experimental results showed that after 180 min under visible light at pH 7, the degradation rates of RhB and TC were 97.81% and 99.

Composition-adjustable semiconductor nanomaterials have garnered significant attention due to their controllable bandgaps and electronic structures, providing alternative opportunities to regulate photoelectric properties and develop the corresponding multifunction optoelectronic devices. Nevertheless, the large-scale integration of semiconductor nanomaterials into practical devices remains challenging. Here, we report a synthesis strategy for the well-aligned horizontal CdSSe ( = 0-1) nanowall arrays, which are guided grown on an annealed M-plane sapphire using chemical vapor deposition (CVD) approaches.

View Article and Find Full Text PDFA combined multilevel quantum mechanics and molecular mechanics approach is performed to investigate the nucleophilic substitution reactions of CN + CHX (X = F, Cl, Br, and I) by the N-side attack in aqueous solution. The water molecules are treated microscopically using an explicit SPC/E model, and the potentials of mean force are characterized by both the DFT and CCSD(T) levels of theory for the solute. Calculations demonstrate that the shielding effect of the solvent reduces the nucleophile-substrate and substrate-leaving group interactions in solution, leading to stationary point structures that are quite different from those in the gas phase.

Methods: We performed a multicenter, open-label, randomized trial in China, involving patients with symptomatic nonacute subdural hematoma with mass effect. Patients were assigned to undergo burr-hole drainage or receive nonsurgical treatment at the surgeon's discretion, and patients in each group were then randomly assigned, in a 1:1 ratio, to undergo middle meningeal artery embolization with liquid embolic material or to receive usual care.
Gas-phase reactions of [OsB] ( = 1-4) with methane at ambient temperature have been studied by using quadrupole-ion trap mass spectrometry combined with quantum chemical calculations. The [OsB] ( = 1-4) cluster ions can undergo dehydrogenation reactions with methane. Comprehensive analysis of the [OsB]/CH ( = 1-4) system with Os-complexes ([OsC] ( = 1-3) and [OsO] ( = 1-3)) shows that the large polarity of the cluster and the high sum of the pair energies between Os and the ligand in the ETS-NOCV combine to promote the ability of the cluster to activate methane.

Developing stimulus-responsive properties of drug delivery nanocarriers combined with enhanced joint lubrication is an effective synergistic strategy for treating osteoarthritis. Poly(N-isopropylacrylamide) (PNIPAm) is a typical thermo-responsive polymer, which can achieve drug delivery by transition from swollen state to collapsed state. However, undesired transition temperature, limited drug loading capacity, and weakened mechanical properties in joint present obstacles to use as drug delivery nanocarriers.
