Objectives: To investigate the effects of suberoylanilide hydroxamic acid (SAHA) on lung fibroblast activation and to examine the role of p66Shc in this process.
Methods: An in vitro pulmonary fibrosis model was established using transforming growth factor-β (TGF-β)-induced MRC-5 lung fibroblasts. The proliferation and migration capacities of MRC-5 cells, along with the expression of fibrosis-related genes, were assessed following treatment with SAHA and/or silence of p66Shc.
The objective was to examine associations between social jetlag and diet quality among young adults in the US using nationally representative data from the 2017-2018 NHANES survey, and evaluate effect modification by gender and race/ethnicity. Social jetlag was considered ≥2-hour difference in sleep midpoint (median of bedtime and wake time) between weekends and weekdays. Diet quality was assessed with the Healthy Eating Index (HEI)-2015 and its 13 dietary components.

Providing insights into the genetic basis of fat deposition could help improve breeding strategies aimed at producing high-quality meat ducks. This study aimed to identify the genetic mechanisms and lipid metabolism pathways regulating subcutaneous and intramuscular fat deposition in two Pekin duck strains: Nankou No.

The current paper proposes a novel covariance structure model with seven parameters to specifically isolate and quantify mtDNA effects on human behavior. This approach uses extended pedigrees to obtain estimates of mtDNA variance while controlling for other genetic and environmental influences.
