Here, we identified a 4'-O-rhamnosyltransferase (UGT73DY2) from P. polyphylla, which catalyzes the 4'-O-rhamnosylation of polyphyllins V and VI, producing dioscin and pennogenin 3-O-β-chacotrioside, respectively.
