Photothermal therapy (PTT) has shown promise in the ablation of small, unresectable tumors by boosting the tumor's temperature above 50 °C. However, the high local temperature-induced cancer cell necrosis could create severe local inflammation, which may deteriorate normal tissues and increase tumor spreading. Although mild photothermal therapy (MPTT) at 42-45 °C could avoid the undesired side effect to some extent with minimal nonspecific heat diffusion, the self-protective behavior of tumors during MPTT results in an unsatisfactory therapeutic effect.

The test results indicated that during the CO2 injection process, the permeability of dry sandstone was two orders of magnitude higher than that of sandstones saturated with different saline concentrations. When the effective stress increases from 10 MPa to 28 MPa, the fissure compressibility of reservoir sandstone is influenced by the saturation of different saline concentrations, with the compressibility coefficients for 0%, 15%, and 30% saline-saturated sandstone being 0.

This study aims to examine the appropriate utilization of medications for stress ulcer prophylaxis (SUP) and identify factors that contribute to the inappropriate use of these medications in the ICU of the Second Hospital of Shanxi Medical University.
Methods: Patient cases admitted to the ICU during the period from May 2022 to May 2023 were extracted from the hospital's information management system.
Rationale And Objectives: To develop a machine learning (ML) model based on clinicopathological and imaging features to predict the Human Epidermal Growth Factor Receptor 2 (HER2) positive expression (HER2-p) of breast cancer (BC), and to compare its performance with that of a logistic regression (LR) model.
Materials And Methods: A total of 2541 consecutive female patients with pathologically confirmed primary breast lesions were enrolled in this study. Based on chronological order, 2034 patients treated between January 2018 and December 2022 were designated as the retrospective development cohort, while 507 patients treated between January 2023 and May 2024 were designated as the prospective validation cohort.
Aim: To investigate the involvement of low-density lipoprotein receptor-related protein 5 (LRP5) in inflammation and alveolar bone loss in periodontitis.
Materials And Methods: Gingival tissues were obtained from 10 periodontitis patients and 10 healthy individuals. Wild-type (WT) and osteoblast-specific Lrp5 conditional knock-out C57BL/6 (LRP5fl/fl;Oc-Cre) mice were used to establish a ligature-induced mouse model of periodontitis.
