The presence of a substantial necrotic core in atherosclerotic plaques markedly heightens the risk of rupture, a consequence of elevated iron levels that exacerbate oxidative stress and lipid peroxidation, thereby sustaining a detrimental cycle of ferroptosis and inflammation. Concurrently targeting both ferroptosis and inflammation is crucial for the effective treatment of vulnerable plaques. In this study, we introduce gallium hexacyanoferrate nanoabsorption catalysts (GaHCF NACs) designed to disrupt this pathological cycle.

Nevertheless, the molecular mechanism whereby PEDV enters host cells is unclear, limiting the development of PED vaccines and anti-PEDV agents. The present study found that the host protein ribonuclease kappa (RNASEK) was regulated by USF2, a transcription factor, and facilitated the PEDV replication.

Understanding the temporal and spatial patterns of the CRC burden attributable to smoking is crucial for global public health strategies. Data from the Global Burden of Diseases, Injuries, and Risk Factors Study (GBD) 2021 were used to calculate the number of deaths, disability-adjusted life years (DALYs), age-standardized mortality rate (ASMR) per 100 000 population, and age-standardized disability-adjusted life year rate (ASDR).

Objective: To compare long-term outcomes and complications of cervical disc replacement (CDR) and anterior cervical discectomy and fusion (ACDF) with cage-plate constructs (CPC) and stand-alone (SA) cages in treating degenerative cervical spondylosis.
Summary Of Background Data: ACDF is commonly used for cervical radiculopathy but may increase adjacent segment degeneration (ASD).
Ectopic lipid deposition in the hepatocyte plays an important role in the development of nonalcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD), which has become one of the most common causes of chronic liver disease worldwide yet no approved drugs are currently available. In this study, a cell-based method was developed to screen potential drugs with low toxicity that inhibit lipid accumulation. In the same 96-well plate, cytotoxicity was measured using CCK8 assay, followed by lipid content detection using BODIPY 493/503 via fluorometry assay, a lipid droplet-specific fluorescent dye commonly used in microscopy and flow cytometry, but not previously reported in fluorometry.
