ROS cause multiple forms of DNA damage, and among them, 8-oxoguanine (8-oxoGua), an oxidized product of guanine, is one of the most abundant. If left unrepaired, 8-oxoGua may pair with A instead of C, leading to a mutation of G: C to T: A during DNA replication. 8-Oxoguanine DNA glycosylase 1 (OGG1) is a tailored repair enzyme that recognizes 8-oxoGua in DNA duplex and initiates the base excision repair (BER) pathway to remove the lesion and ensure the fidelity of the genome.

Background: Kabuki syndrome is a genetic syndrome that affects multiple organs and systems. Gene mutations are the main cause of KS. Mutations in the KMT2D and KDM6A genes have been reported as two relatively clear pathogenic pathways.

The phosphatase activity of PTPN22 can regulate the development of T cells and contribute to regulate the level of inflammation in autoimmune diseases. We produced PTPN22-CS thymus-specific transgenic mice, which suppressed PTPN22 enzyme activity in the thymocytes.

ROS scavenging nanozymes and kidney-targeted nanoparticles for antioxidant drugs delivery have emerged as an arisen methodology for kidney injury therapy. However, cell membrane biomimetic-modified nanozymes as anti-inflammatory drug delivery systems for the treatment of kidney injury is rarely reported.
