Idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF), a progressive interstitial lung disease of unknown etiology, remains a therapeutic challenge with limited treatment options. This study investigates the therapeutic potential and molecular mechanisms of Tryptanthrin, a bioactive indole quinazoline alkaloid derived from Isatis tinctoria L., in pulmonary fibrosis.

The expression of HSP 70 is intricately linked to the adenosine triphosphate (ATP) levels within tumors, suggesting that modulating energy metabolism could potentially enhance the effectiveness of photothermal therapy. To address these challenges, ATO-QUE-Fe-PVP K30 nanoparticles (AQFP NPs) were synthesized through the coordinated self-assembly of the oxidative phosphorylation (OXPHOS) inhibitor atovaquone (ATO) and the glycolysis inhibitor quercetin (QUE) with ferrous ions (Fe) for synergetic energy depletion and low-temperature photothermal therapy (LTPTT).

The Qingyuan partridge chicken, a highly valued indigenous breed in China, requires optimised egg production traits to maximise economic returns. This study analysed weekly egg production data from 6 776 Qingyuan partridge chickens to compare the Grossman and Wood models in fitting individual egg-laying curves and identify the most robust model for estimating egg production persistency. Genetic parameters were estimated for three key traits: age at first egg (AFE), cumulative egg number up to 28 weeks (EN), and persistency derived from the Wood model, alongside weekly egg numbers using a random regression model.

The quorum-quenching enzyme AiiA is believed to disrupt communication between cells by inactivating AHLs-based quorum sensing signals. Chitosan, a biopolymer derived from chitin, is widely used as a coating film to inhibit bacterial growth and prolong food shelf life.
