Room-temperature phosphorescent transparent wood.

Transparent wood with high transmittance and versatility has attracted great attention as an energy-saving building material. Many studies have focused on luminescent transparent wood, while the research on organic afterglow transparent wood is an interesting combination. Here, we use luminescent difluoroboron β-diketonate (BFbdk) compounds, methyl methacrylate (MMA), delignified wood, and initiators to prepare room-temperature phosphorescent transparent wood by thermal initiation polymerization.

Simultaneous Isolation and Preparation of Extracellular Vesicles by Circular Multicavity Electrophoresis.

Extracellular vesicles (EVs) play a crucial role in diagnosis and treatment, yet obtaining highly purified EVs from complex biological samples is often hindered by nanoscale contaminants. In this work, considering the charge-to-size characteristics of EVs, a circular multicavity electrophoresis (CME) with gradient pore size distribution was constructed in the gradient electric field to realize the isolation and preparation of EVs. By the gradient gel sieving effect, small cell debris, EVs, and proteins in biological samples were gradually separated.

Natural Saponins on Cholesterol-Related Diseases: Treatment and Mechanism.

Saponins are compounds composed of lipophilic aglycones linked to hydrophilic sugars. Natural saponins are isolated from plants and some Marine organisms. As important cholesterol-lowering drugs, natural saponins have attracted wide attention for their therapeutic potential in a variety of cholesterol-related metabolic diseases.

Continuous worsening of population emotional stress globally: universality and variations.

Background: Understanding emotional stress stability in populations is crucial because stress is a key factor in causing depression, and it worsens well-being.

Method: In this study, using repeated cross-sectional data from 149 countries from 2007 to 2021 (N = 2,450,043), we examined time trends of psychological stress in populations worldwide.

Results: Over half of the population experienced emotional stress in 20 countries, and 85% of the countries reported worse psychological stress in 2020 compared with 2008.

Efficacy and Safety of Juan Bi Pill with Add-on Methotrexate in Active Rheumatoid Arthritis: A 48-Week, Multicentre, Randomized, Double-Blind, Placebo-Controlled Trial.

Objective: To explore the efficacy and safety of Juan Bi Pill (JBP) in treatment of active rheumatoid arthritis (RA).

Methods: From February 2017 to May 2018, 115 participants from 4 centers were randomly divided into JBP group (57 cases) and placebo group (58 cases) in a 1:1 ratio using a random number table method. Participants received a dose of JBP (4 g, twice a day, orally) combined with methotrexate (MTX, 10 mg per week) or placebo (4 g, twice a day, orally) combined with MTX for 12 weeks.
