Metabolic diseases have gradually become one of the most significant global medical burdens. Diseases such as obesity, diabetes, and metabolic syndrome, along with their complications, are clinically categorized as metabolic diseases. Long-term oral medication significantly reduces patient compliance and quality of life.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFLiver cancer has become a major global health challenge due to its high incidence, high rate of late diagnosis and limited treatment options. Although there are many clinical treatments available for liver cancer, the cure rate is still very low, and now researchers have begun to explore new aspects of liver cancer treatment, and nanotechnology has shown great potential for improving diagnostic accuracy and therapeutic efficacy and is therefore a promising treatment option. In diagnosis, nanomaterials such as gold nanoparticles, magnetic nanoparticles, and silver nanoparticles can realize highly sensitive and specific detection of liver cancer biomarkers, supporting diagnosis and real-time monitoring of the disease process.

In this study, based on the adhesive properties of polydopamine (PDA) and the good antimicrobial and remineralization properties of carboxymethyl chitosan (CMC) and xylitol (Xy), new nanocomposites with both antimicrobial and remineralization capabilities were prepared to coat on orthodontic brackets.
Methods: Composite carbon dots (CDs) were synthesized using carboxymethyl chitosan and xylitol, we characterized them and the antimicrobial properties of the CMC-Xy-CDs were investigated by co-cultivation with S.
Objective: To evaluate the plasma levels of the otoconial proteins, otoconin-90 and otolin-1, in individuals diagnosed with vestibular neuritis (VN) and determine the feasibility of using these proteins as biomarkers for VN.
Methods: In this preliminary study, 30 patients diagnosed with VN and 70 healthy individuals were recruited and followed to confirm whether they had benign paroxysmal positional vertigo (BPPV) during the following time. The recorded data included measurements of height, weight, and history of diabetes mellitus or hypertension.
Objective: This study aimed to develop and evaluate a novel software tool for robust analysis of the Visually Enhanced Vestibular-Ocular Reflex (VVOR) and video head impulse test (vHIT) saccades.
Methods: A retrospective study was conducted on 94 patients with Meniere's Disease (MD), unilateral vestibular hypofunction (UVH), and vestibular migraine (VM). The MATLAB-based VVOR Analysis System and Saccades All in One software were utilized for data processing.
