Introduction: The emergence of the wide variety of novel tigecycline resistance (X) variants, including (X3), (X4), (X5), and (X6), has raised a serious threat to global public health and posed a significant challenge to the clinical treatment of multidrug-resistant bacterial infections.
Methods: In this study, we evaluated the synergism of tigecycline combining with other antibiotics as a means of overcoming the (X)-mediated resistance in spp. Antibiotic synergistic efficacy was evaluated through chequerboard experiments, time-kill assays and dose-response curves.
Background: The traditional method of prophylactic loop ileostomy is time-consuming and prone to complications like stoma stenosis, peristomal adhesions, or dermatitis. The aim of this study is to evaluate the clinical application value and potential benefits of a novel approach named linea alba support method (LASM) of prophylactic loop ileostomy via lower abdominal midline incision.
Methods: The clinical data of rectal cancer patients admitted to the General Surgery Department of the First Affiliated Hospital of Xi'an Jiaotong University between January 2021 and December 2023 were retrospectively analyzed.
Aim: The reconstruction methods after proximal gastrectomy (PG) are varied but not standardized. This study was performed to evaluate the short-term clinical outcomes between double tract reconstruction (DTR) and double flap technique (DFT).
Methods: We retrospectively reviewed and collected data of patients who underwent DTR and DFT after laparoscopic proximal gastrectomy (LPG), respectively, between January 2020 and March 2023.
Background: Despite a consensus on the negative implications of problematic internet use (PIU) for mental health, there is a notable gap in research concerning older demographics, particularly older teachers. This study aimed to investigate the prevalence of PIU and its impact on the mental wellbeing of this population.
Methods: Three sub-studies were conducted: Study 1 (2020) investigated how fear induced by COVID-19 influenced PIU and psychological distress among 3,929 older teachers.
The tedious synthesis and limited throughput biological evaluation remain a great challenge for discovering new proteolysis targeting chimera (PROTAC). To rapidly identify potential PROTAC lead compounds, we report a platform named Auto-RapTAC. Based on the modular characteristic of the PROTAC molecule, a streamlined workflow that integrates lab automation with "click chemistry" joint building-block libraries was constructed.
