Clara cell secretory protein (CC16) is a 16kDa protein secreted by Clara cells in the lining fluid of bronchiolar and bronchial epithelium. CC16 presents several biologic properties, and has been shown to have immunomodulatory and anti-inflammatory activity. It may play a role in controlling inflammation in the airway.
