The integrity of the myelin sheath of the spinal cord (SC) is essential for motor coordination. Seipin is an endoplasmic reticulum transmembrane protein highly expressed in adipose tissue and motor neurons in the SC. It was reported Seipin deficiency induced lipid dysregulation and neurobehavioral deficits, but the underlying mechanism, especially in SC, remains to be elucidated.

The aim of this study is to analyze the clinical characteristics and influencing factors associated with false-positive treponemal tests in patients, so as to enhance the diagnostic accuracy of syphilis and mitigate misdiagnosis-induced incorrect treatment.
Methods: From January 2017 to December 2023, a total of 759 cases with false-positive results for treponema were screened for blood transfusion, surgery, or other medical interventions at Jinling hospital.
Gold nanoclusters (Au NCs) protected by molecular ligands represent a new class of second-generation near-infrared (NIR-II) luminescent materials that have been widely studied. However, the photoluminescence efficiencies of most NIR-II emitting Au NCs in aqueous solution are generally lower than 0.2%, and to fully exploit the advantages of AuNCs in the NIR-II region, improving their photoluminescence efficiency has become an urgent need.

Our study sought to investigate the interrelationship between gut microbiota and intratumoral microbiota in the context of triple therapy, with a view to identifying potential biological markers.
Methods: The gut microbial community profiles of patients with primary untreated hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) and those treated with local therapy combined with lenvatinib and PD-1 inhibitors were analyzed by 16S rRNA gene amplicon sequencing.
In this editorial, we have commented on the article that has been published in the recent issue of . The authors have described a case of unilateral thyroid cyst and have opined that the acute onset of infection may be linked to diabetes mellitus (DM). We have focused on the role of nutrition in the association between DM and infection.
