Total syntheses of the parvistemoline alkaloids enabled by stereocontrolled Ir/Pd-catalyzed allylic alkylation.

The functionalized polycycle with densely contiguous tertiary stereocenters is a formidable challenge in synthesizing the parvistemoline family of Stemona alkaloids. We herein report their catalytic, asymmetric total syntheses in 13-14 steps from commercially available 2-(methoxycarbonyl)-pyrrole, featuring the development and deployment of an Ir/Pd-synergistically-catalyzed allylation of α-non-substituted keto esters with secondary aryl-substituted alcohols, stereodivergently accessible to four stereoisomers. Using chiral Pd-enolate and Ir π-allyl complex under neutral conditions, no epimerization occurs.

Hyperspectral Metachip-Based 3D Spatial Map for Cancer Cell Screening and Quantification.

In this paper, compact terahertz (THz) metachips for hyperspectral screening and quantitative evaluation of human cancer cells is reported. This pixelated resonant metachips feature the resonance channel from 1 and 3 THz frequency with a record-high quality factor (up to 230). Through the interactions of various cancer cells of different concentrations, high-dimensional spectral signatures are obtained, which are further transformed into a spatial map for labelling and quantification purposes.

Objective: Colorectal cancer is severely challenging because of the insufficient understanding of the mechanism underlying its resistance to clinical chemotherapy. The purpose of our study is to investigate the role of the LIM protein Ajuba (JUB) in the chemoresistance of colon cancer and its potential effect on clinical treatment.

Material And Methods: The protein levels of JUB in colon cancer tissues were evaluated using Western blot analysis and immunohistochemistry assays.

The Geriatric Nutritional Risk Index (GNRI) is an effective tool for assessing the nutritional status of the elderly.

Determinants of conventional and contrast-enhanced ultrasound diagnosis of fat-poor angiomyolipoma <5 cm.

Purpose: This study aims to assess the diagnostic efficacy of conventional ultrasound (CUS) and contrast-enhanced ultrasound (CEUS) in detecting fat-poor angiomyolipomas(AML) with dimensions less than 5 cm. Additionally, the study seeks to identify independent indicators for predicting the presence of fat-poor AML.

Methods: We conducted a retrospective analysis of patients diagnosed with renal AML and renal cell carcinoma, who were admitted and underwent surgery at Fujian Provincial Hospital from January 2013 to October 2023.
