Introduction: Limited evidence exists that clinical trial treatment response criteria predict long-term outcomes in Asian patients with lupus nephritis (LN).
Methods: This retrospective analysis of prospectively collected data from the Hong Kong Queen Mary Hospital Cohort categorized adults with biopsy-proven LN (Class III, IV, V, or mixed [III ± V, IV ± V]) after standard treatment for 2 years postbiopsy and immunosuppression induction according to modified primary efficacy renal response (mPERR: estimated glomerular filtration rate [eGFR] ≥ 60 ml/min per 1.73 m or ≤ 20% below biopsy value AND urine protein-to-creatinine ratio [uPCR] ≤ 0.
Introduction: Sulfatinib is a novel oral tyrosine kinase inhibitor (TKI) with selective inhibition of fibroblast growth factor (FGFR), colony-stimulating factor 1 receptor (CSF-1R) and vascular endothelial growth factor receptor (VEGFR) 1, 2, and 3. It has been approved for the therapy of neuroendocrine tumors arising in the non-pancreatic (December 2020) and pancreatic (June 2021) glands. Until now, there has no research on the determination of sulfatinib in biological medium by ultra performance liquid chromatography tandem mass spectrometry (UPLC-MS/MS) method.

However, the unpredictable crystallization of perovskite on flexible substrates results in significantly lower efficiency and mechanical durability than industry standards. A strategy is investigated employing the polymer electrolyte poly(allylamine hydrochloride) (PAH) to regulate crystallization and passivate defect states in perovskite films on flexible substrates.

RICD significantly impacts the quality of life for cancer survivors, highlighting an unmet medical need. Previous human studies revealed a marked reduction in plasma brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF) post-chronic chemotherapy, linking this decline to a substantial cognitive dysfunction among cancer survivors.

Whether CB2 receptor agonists attenuate morphine tolerance by modulating CXCL12/CXCR4 signaling or whether CXCL12/CXCR4 signaling affects the mu opioid receptor (MOR) in the development of morphine tolerance in cancer pain remains unclear. In this study, we investigated the attenuation of morphine tolerance by a non-analgesic dose of the CB2 receptor agonist AM1241, focusing specifically on the modulation of CXCL12/CXCR4 signaling and its effect on the MOR.

To clarify the protective effects of subcutaneous adipose tissue (SAT) against photodamage, we utilized nude mouse skin with or without SAT. Skin and fibroblasts were treated with adipose tissue-derived extracellular vesicles (AT-EVs) or extracellular vesicles derived from adipose-derived stem cells (ADSC-EVs) to demonstrate that SAT protects the overlying skin from photodamage primarily through AT-EVs. Surprisingly, AT-EVs stimulated fibroblast proliferation more rapidly than ADSC-EVs did.

Methods: This study used resting-state functional near-infrared spectroscopy (fNIRS) to record hemodynamic signals in 34 children with ADHD-combined subtype (ADHD-C), 52 children with ADHD-inattentive subtype (ADHD-I), and 24 healthy controls (HCs).
Progranulin (PGRN), an autocrine growth factor with tumorigenic roles in a variety of tumors, is a putative survival factor for normal and cancer cells in vitro. However, the fundamental mechanism of PGRN-mediated survival of cancer cells suffering from various types of microenvironmental stresses, such as serum deprivation, remains unknown. We show here that serum deprivation decreases intracellular PGRN protein levels in cervical cancer cells.

GC cell lines (MFC and NCI-N87) and PBMC cells were co-cultured and IDO inhibitor 1-methyl-tryptophan (1-MT) was added. The proliferation was detected by CCK-8, the apoptosis was detected by flow cytometry, and the contents of TNF-α, IL-1β, IL-6, IL-8, and INF-γ were detected by ELISA.

However, current fermentation schemes using multiple carbon sources increase production cost and metabolism burden. This study reported the development of an engineered Bacillus subtilis strain that produces 2'-FL using glucose as the sole carbon source.

Ovarian cancer is the most common type of gynecological malignant tumor, with the highest mortality rate among female genital malignant tumors. In this study, we initially identified forkhead box F1 (FOXF1) as a potential prognostic biomarker of ovarian cancer through bioinformatics analysis. FOXF1 expression was higher in ovarian cancer tissue samples and served as an unfavorable prognostic factor.

Efficient intracellular delivery of native proteins remains a big challenge, which greatly hinders the development of protein therapy. Here, we report a generalizable peptide vector that can encapsulate and deliver various proteins to achieve efficient intracellular biocatalysis. The peptide was rationally designed to be cationic amphiphilic peptide that consist of four functional fragments, that is, a hydrophobic domain to promote molecular assembly, an enzyme-cleavable fragment to introduce stimuli-responsibility, several cationic arginine (Arg) residues to enhance cell interaction and transmembrane efficiency, and the cystine (Cys) residues with redox sensitivity to adjust the stability of the peptide/protein complexes as needed.

Nickel-rich layered oxide with high reversible capacity and high working potentials is a prevailing cathode for high-energy-density all-solid-state lithium batteries (ASSLBs). However, compared to the liquid battery system, ASSLBs suffer from poor Li-ion migration kinetics, severe side reactions, and undesired formation of space charge layers, which result in restricted capacity release and limited rate capability. In this work, we reveal that the capacity loss lies in the H2-H3 phase transition period, and we propose that the inconsistent interfacial Li-ion migration is the arch-criminal.
