Background: LncRNA PCAT6 has been shown to involve in carcinogenesis of different tumors. In this study, we investigated underline mechanism by which PCAT6 promoted breast cancer cell progression.

Methods: RIP was used to identify lncRNAs associated with IMP1.

The emergence of immunotherapy has introduced a promising, novel approach to cancer treatment. While multiple chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T-cell therapies have demonstrated remarkable clinical efficacy against leukemia, their effect on solid tumors has been limited. One potential option for treating solid tumors is the engineering of natural killer (NK) cells with CARs.

Background: Heterologous boosting is suggested to be of use in populations who have received inactivated COVID-19 vaccines. We aimed to assess the safety and immunogenicity of a heterologous vaccination with the mRNA vaccine CS-2034 versus the inactivated BBIBP-CorV as a fourth dose, as well as the efficacy against the SARS-CoV-2 omicron (BA.5) variant.

Background: Increasing studies have shown that lncRNAs often play roles through interaction with miRNAs to control gene expression by inhibiting translation or facilitating degradation of target mRNAs. Here, we report that two lncRNAs, MACC1-AS1 and UCA1 are coordinately expressed in breast cancer cells and share the ability to interact with multiple miRNAs to mediate the expression of different genes.

Methods: Targetscan, starBase and miRDB databases were used to predict the relationships of MACC1-AS1/UCA1-miRNA-mRNA network.

Purpose: The basic helix-loop-helix transcription factor (bHLH) transcription factor Twist1 plays a key role in embryonic development and tumorigenesis. p53 is a frequently mutated tumor suppressor in cancer. Both proteins play a key and significant role in breast cancer tumorigenesis.

Notch receptors (Notch1-4) play critical roles in tumorigenesis and metastasis of malignant tumors, including breast cancer. Although abnormal Notch activation is related to various tumors, the importance of single receptors and their mechanism of activation in distinct breast cancer subtypes are still unclear. Previous studies by our group demonstrated that Notch3 may inhibit the emergence and progression of breast cancer.

Extensive clinical trials indicate that patients with negative sentinel lymph node biopsy do not need axillary lymph node dissection (ALND). However, the ACOSOG Z0011 trial indicates that patients with clinically negative axillary lymph nodes (ALNs) and 1-2 positive sentinel lymph nodes having breast conserving surgery with whole breast radiotherapy do not benefit from ALND. The aim of this study is therefore to identify those patients with 0-2 positive nodes who might avoid ALND.

Axillary reverse mapping (ARM) is a technique to identify arm lymphatic drainage during axillary lymph node dissection (ALND). This study compared the feasibility of ARM using indocyanine green (ICG) or methylene blue (MB), and accessed the oncologic safety of the procedure. Overall, 158 patients qualified for ALND were enrolled.

Introduction: The L1 cell adhesion molecule (L1-CAM) and its soluble form sL1 play a prominent role in invasion and metastasis in several cancers. However, its association with breast cancer is still unclear.

Patients And Methods: We analyzed L1-CAM expression and serum sL1 levels in cancer and para-carcinoma tissues from 162 consecutive patients with primary invasive breast cancer (PBC) using immunohistochemistry and an enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay, respectively.

The p21-activated kinase 4 (PAK4) is sufficient to transform noncancerous mammary epithelial cells and to form tumors in the mammary glands of mice. The accumulated information suggests that PAK4 might be an oncogenic protein in breast cancer. In this study, we sought to identify the role for PAK4 in breast cancer progression.

The purpose of the present study was to investigate the significance of C-X-C motif chemokine receptor type 4 (CXCR4) and epidermal growth factor receptors (EGFRs) in triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC). CXCR4 and EGFR expression levels were immunohistochemically determined in 207 primary breast cancer specimens. The associations between receptor expression and clinicopathological characteristics were analyzed, and receptor expression was also assessed as a prognostic factor.

Breast reconstruction with transverse rectus abdominis myocutaneous (TRAM) flap is challenging in patients with low midline abdominal scar. In this study, we aimed to investigate the clinical feasibility of immediate breast reconstruction using single-pedicle TRAM (SP-TRAM) flaps in patients with low midline abdominal scar. There were 4 strict selection criteria: 1) presence at least 3 perforators on the pedicle side; 2) perforators with regional average flow velocity of >20 cm/s; 3) upper edge of the abdominal scar at least 4 cm from the umbilicus; and 4) scar age >1 year.

Among patients with a preoperative positive axillary ultrasound, around 40% of them are pathologically proved to be free from axillary lymph node (ALN) metastasis. We aimed to develop and validate a model to predict the probability of ALN metastasis as a preoperative tool to support clinical decision-making. Clinicopathological features of 322 early breast cancer patients with positive axillary ultrasound findings were analyzed.

The effect of different high pressure homogenization energy input parameters on mean diameter droplet size (MDS) and droplets with > 5 μm of lipid injectable emulsions were evaluated. All emulsions were prepared at different water bath temperatures or at different rotation speeds and rotor-stator system times, and using different homogenization pressures and numbers of high-pressure system recirculations. The MDS and polydispersity index (PI) value of the emulsions were determined using the dynamic light scattering (DLS) method, and large-diameter tail assessments were performed using the light-obscuration/single particle optical sensing (LO/SPOS) method.

Bicyclol with benzyl alcohol structure, is a poorly water-soluble drug, used for the treatment of chronic hepatitis B. To increase the drug solubility and oral bioavailability, a Bicyclol-phospholipid complex was studied on its preparation, formation mechanism, and the influence on drug physicochemical properties and oral absorption. The complex was prepared by a solvent evaporation method.

Injectable lipid emulsions have been routinely used in patients since 1960s as a nutritional supplement for patients requiring parenteral nutrition. In recent years, lipid injectable emulsions have been extensively studied as a kind of novel drug carrier, also the quality problems of the lipid emulsion attract more and more attentions gradually. Large diameter tail of injectable lipid emulsions as a significant quality control indicator should pay more attention.

Brachial plexus injury is a rare complication during operation and anesthesia; it can occur as a result of various mechanisms such as inappropriate positioning, over-abduction and stretching the upper limbs. Brachial plexus injury can cause the poor function of the upper limb before recovery, and sometimes serious injury is unable to completely recovered the function permanently. Here, we report a female breast cancer patient who sustained a left brachial plexus palsy after modified radical mastectomy with immediate breast reconstruction with latissimusdorsi flap (LDF).
