Objective: Symptomatic adjacent vertebral fractures (AVF) poses a challenge to patient prognosis in osteoporotic vertebral compressive fractures (OVCF) treated by percutaneous vertebralplasty (PVP). This study aimed to identify potential risk factors for AVF, thereby offering theoretical insights for refining patient management strategies and surgical protocols.

Methods: Clinical data of PVP patients treated between March 2018 and May 2020 were retrospectively analyzed, with an average follow-up period of 30 months.

Purpose: To explore the impact of the snake-eye appearance (SEA) on the efficacy of anterior cervical discectomy and fusion (ACDF) in treating Degenerative Cervical Myelopathy (DCM).

Methods: A total of 316 Patients were divided into three groups, those with SEA were in the SEA group, and those with the absence of SEA were in the non-SEA group. Meanwhile, in the non-SEA group, patients with grade 1 or 2 increased signal intensity (ISI) on T2-weighted MRI were in the ISI group, and the remaining patients without ISI were in the non-ISI group.

Background: In patients with ossification of the posterior longitudinal ligament of the cervical spine (OPLL), high spinal cord signal (HCS) is frequently observed in the spinal cord of the corresponding segment. However, studies on the differences in the improvement of high spinal cord signal due to different surgical approaches are limited. The aim of this study was to investigate the improvement of high spinal cord signal in long and short segments with different choices of surgical approaches.

Background: In patients with cervical spondylotic myelopathy caused by ossification of the posterior longitudinal ligament, high cord signal (HCS) is frequently observed. However, limited research has investigated the variations in HCS improvement resulting from different surgical approaches. This study aims to explore the potential relationship between the choice of surgical approach and the postoperative improvement of intramedullary high signal in ossification of the posterior longitudinal ligament (OPLL) patients.

This study aimed to extract orthophosphate (ortho-P) from lipid-rich waste AF liquor (AFL) by Mg/Al layered double hydroxides (Mg/Al LDHs) adsorption, evaluate the influence of carbonate and investigate adsorption mechanisms. The carbonate influence experiment using synthetic P-rich wastewater indicated that low carbonate level was favorable for P extraction by LDHs. And then, real AFL rich in volatile fatty acids (VFAs), carbonate and ortho-P was applied as adsorbate to explore the Mg/Al LDHs adsorption performance.
