Red jujube is a nutritious food, known as the "king of all fruits". The quality of Chinese red jujube is closely associated with its place of origin. To classify Chinese red jujube more correctly, based on the combination of adaptive boosting (Adaboost) and common vectors linear discriminant analysis (CLDA), Adaboost-CLDA was proposed to classify the near-infrared (NIR) spectra of red jujube samples.

To address this, a NIR-activated heavy-atom-free photosensitizer (named Cy-BF) is developed. Cy-BF is then encapsulated with phospholipids and platelet exosome vesicles to create platelet exosomes vesicles biomimetic and Cy-BF loaded hybrid liposomes (named CHL) Characterized by high phototoxicity, low dark toxicity, and enhanced tumor targeting, CHL demonstrates aggregation-induced broadening of absorption spectra and NIR (760 nm laser) activates photothermal therapy and type I photodynamic therapy.

Methods: Data were collected from a prospective multicentre hospital-based registry (China National Cerebrovascular Disease Prevention and Control Project Management Special Database) of patients with AIS involving 21 hospitals across different economic and geographical regions in China in 2022.
Background: This study investigates the early predictive value of infectious markers for ventilator-associated pneumonia (VAP) after Stanford type A aortic dissection surgery.
Methods: A retrospective review of the medical records of all patients with Stanford type A aortic dissection admitted to Shanghai General Hospital from July 2020 to July 2023 who received mechanical ventilation after surgery was performed. Patients were divided into infection and non-infection groups according to the presence of VAP.
Objectives: To explore the bone regeneration effect of different forms of concentrated growth factor (CGF) when combined with deproteinized bovine bone mineral (DBBM) for simultaneous implant-guided bone regeneration (GBR) and its impact on postoperative adverse reactions.
Methods: Fifty-seven patients who underwent simultaneous implant GBR were selected for the study and divided into three groups. The study involved three groups: the gel phase concentrated growth factor (GPCGF) group, which used GPCGF-DBBM mixture; the liquid phase concentrated growth factor (LPCGF) group, which used LPCGF-DBBM mixture; and the control group, which used DBBM alone.
Developing sacrificial cathode prelithiation technology to compensate for irreversible lithium loss is crucial for enhancing the energy density of lithium-ion batteries. Antifluorite Li-rich LiFeO (LFO) is a promising prelithiation agent due to its high theoretical capacity (867 mAh g) and superior decomposition dynamic (<4.0 V vs.

Establishing a national standard for PHKC HCP is very important to ensure the consistency of HCPs between batches of the vaccine and to standardize the control of HCPs.
Objectives: We aimed to establish a novel national standard substance to determine the HCP residue in rabies vaccines produced with PHKCs.
Background: Guillain-Barré syndrome (GBS) is a group of immune-mediated peripheral neuropathies that causes acute flaccid paralysis. The global incidence of GBS was 0.6-4/100 000, and the incidence in China was 0.

Methods: A two-sample MR approach was used to explore the causal relationships between 731 immune cell phenotypes, 91 inflammatory factors, and childhood asthma. The main analysis was performed using inverse variance weighting (IVW), with additional methods like weighted median, MR-Egger, and weighted mode.
In this issue of Cell Genomics, Choi et al. report a novel approach, privateQTL, which leverages secure multiparty computation (MPC) to enable federated expression quantitative trait loci (eQTL) mapping across institutions without compromising data privacy. Zhang et al.

Therefore, we conducted a nationwide, multicenter retrospective study to investigate the association between maternal prepregnancy weight and health outcomes in twins.
Study Design: This study collected data from 22 healthcare units across 12 regions in China between January 2018 and December 2020.
Tumor cells reshape iron and lipid metabolism for their rapid proliferation. However, how tumor cells coordinate the interplay between tumor cell-specific iron homeostasis and lipid metabolism reprogramming to counteract energy shortages remains unclear. Here, we demonstrated that glucose deprivation in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) cells induced AMPK-dependent Transferrin S685 phosphorylation, which exposed Transferrin nuclear localization signal (NLS) for binding to importin α7 and subsequent nuclear translocation.

The present study aimed to assess the capability of biomarkers, including inflammatory indicators, anaemic markers, lipid markers, and renal function indices, to differentiate between different stages of chronic kidney disease (CKD). Expected to provide a new strategy for monitoring the development of CKD and stratified treatment management, providing valuable insights for future biomarker studies to explore early detection of CKD. The changes in inflammatory markers (interferon gamma [IFN-γ], interleukin [IL]-17A, IL-10, IL-6, IL-4, IL-2, IL-1 and white blood cells [WBC]), lipid markers (high-density lipoprotein cholesterol [HDL-c], low-density lipoprotein cholesterol [LDL-c], and triglyceride [TG]), indicators of kidney injury (serum creatinine [Scr] and blood urea nitrogen [BUN]) in 451 patients with different stages of CKD were examined.

It is the primary cause of primary hypothyroidism and affects women more frequently than men. Nearly 95% of individuals with HT exhibit thyroid peroxidase antibodies or thyroglobulin antibodies.

However, owing to the presence of residual host cell DNA (HCD) in the final product and the potential tumorigenicity of the DNA of high-passage Vero cells, the WHO not only sets a limit on the number of times cells used in production can be passaged, but also imposes strict requirements on the amount of residual HCD in the final vaccine product.
Objectives: To systematically reduce the HCD level in the final vaccine product, multiple purification steps are included in the vaccine production process.
The emerging of emergent SARS-CoV-2 subvariants has reduced the protective efficacy of COVID-19 vaccines. Therefore, novel COVID-19 vaccines targeting these emergent variants are needed. We designed and prepared CoV072, an mRNA-based vaccine against SARS-CoV-2 Omicron (EG.

It is divided into different types depending on the gene mutated, and a total of 16 genes have been found to be associated with MODY. However, due to the current lack of understanding of monogenic diabetes, 90% of MODY is currently misdiagnosed and ignored in clinical practice.

Whether and how decreased STIM1 expression in cardiomyocytes (CM) impacts cardiac remodeling in response to I/R injury remains unknown.
Objective: To examine mechanisms by which decreased CM-STIM1 expression in the adult heart modulates cardiac function before and after I/R injury.
While low-dose cannabinoid 2 (CB2) receptor agonists attenuate morphine tolerance in cancer pain models, chemokine ligand 12 (CXCL12)/chemokine receptor 4 (CXCR4) expression induces morphine tolerance. Whether CB2 receptor agonists attenuate morphine tolerance by modulating CXCL12/CXCR4 signaling or whether CXCL12/CXCR4 signaling affects the mu opioid receptor (MOR) in the development of morphine tolerance in cancer pain remains unclear. In this study, we investigated the attenuation of morphine tolerance by a non-analgesic dose of the CB2 receptor agonist AM1241, focusing specifically on the modulation of CXCL12/CXCR4 signaling and its effect on the MOR.

However, SGLT2i have multiple in vivo effects and the differential impact of SGLT2i treatment and ketone supplementation on cardiac metabolism remains unclear. Here, using gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS) and liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry (LC-MS/MS) methodology combined with infusions of [13C6]glucose or [13C4]βOHB, we demonstrate that acute SGLT2 inhibition with dapagliflozin shifts relative rates of myocardial mitochondrial metabolism toward ketone oxidation, decreasing pyruvate oxidation with little effect on fatty acid oxidation in awake rats.
