Euryales Semen (ES) is a highly nutritious food with low digestibility, which is closely associated with its endogenous phenolic compounds. In this study, five phenolic compounds (naringenin, isoquercitrin, gallic acid, epicatechin and quercetin) with high concentrations in ES were selected to prepare starch-polyphenol complexes. Subsequently, the effects of endogenous polyphenols on the structure, physicochemical properties and digestion characteristics of ES starch were studied using multiple techniques.

Perillae Folium (PF) is a well-known food and herb containing different chemotypes, which affect its quality. Herein, a method was proposed to classify and quantify PF chemotypes using gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS) and Fourier transform-near infrared spectroscopy (FT-NIR). GC-MS results revealed that PF contains several chemotypes, including perilla ketone (PK) type, -asarone (PP-as) type, and dillapiole (PP-dm) type, with the PK type being the predominant chemotype.

The effect of different concentrations of MeJA (0, 50, 100, 200, and 300 μmol/L) on the growth of adventitious bud clusters was analyzed over a 20 d period. Using gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS), 17 compounds were identified from the adventitious bud clusters of .

This method integrates LC-MS/MS analysis, 16S rRNA sequencing, RT-qPCR, and molecular assays to investigate the regulation of phenolic metabolite biosynthesis in rhizome (SL) under stress. Previous research has shown that the metabolites and genes involved in phenol biosynthesis correlate to the upregulation of genes involved in plant-pathogen interactions.

The proportions of these compounds vary greatly during the different fruit development periods of Fructus Ligustri Lucidi. However, a clear understanding of how the proportions of the compounds and their regulatory biosynthetic mechanisms change across the different fruit development periods of Fructus Ligustri Lucidi is still lacking.

Aim: To investigate whether Huangma Ding or autologous platelet-rich gel (APG) treatment would benefit diabetic lower extremity arterial disease (LEAD) patients with foot ulcers.
Methods: A total of 155 diabetic LEAD patients with foot ulcers were enrolled and divided into three groups: Group A (62 patients; basal treatment), Group B (38 patients; basal treatment and APG), and Group C (55 patients; basal treatment and Huangma Ding).
Zinc-alpha2-glycoprotein (AZGP1) has been implicated in peripheral metabolism; however, its role in regulating energy metabolism in the brain, particularly in POMC neurons, remains unknown. Here, we show that AZGP1 in POMC neurons plays a crucial role in controlling whole-body metabolism. POMC neuron-specific overexpression of Azgp1 under high-fat diet conditions reduces energy intake, raises energy expenditure, elevates peripheral tissue leptin and insulin sensitivity, alleviates liver steatosis, and promotes adipose tissue browning.

Terpenoids are important secondary metabolites of plants that possess both pharmacological activity and economic value. Terpene synthases(TPSs) are key enzymes in the synthesis process of terpenoids. In order to investigate the TPS gene family members and their potential functions in Schizonepeta tenuifolia, this study conducted a systematic analysis of the TPS gene family of S.

Understanding the impact of different fertilization schemes on Euryales Semen (ES) planting and exploring the supporting mechanism are crucial for achieving high yield and sustainable development of the ES planting industry.
Methods: In this study, a field plot experiment was conducted to evaluate the effects of four different fertilization treatments on the yield and quality of ES using morphological characteristics and metabolomic changes.
The complication of diabetes, which is known as diabetic foot ulcer (DFU), is a significant concern due to its association with high rates of disability and mortality. It not only severely affects patients' quality of life, but also imposes a substantial burden on the healthcare system. In spite of efforts made in clinical practice, treating DFU remains a challenging task.
